ranoko
So if you are running multiple instances side by side on the same machine, does it use the same server pbos in @dayz_epoch_server or does it depend on the maps you are running? Any insight would be wonderful ;)
0 cen
It uses it's own for each server you are running. The files can be identical though since the mod is the same only the map that it's running on is different.
0 ranoko
So would you have to make a second dayz_server.pbo or even a separate dayz_server folder? i guess were my confusion comes in is that there is only one location for the server PBO. 0 vbawol
With epoch you can share the same DB just make sure each server is on its own instance ID.
0 ranoko
Oh ok i didn't know you could use the same DB. I think i may still create a second DB so its easier to read : ). But i guess i'm still confused about the dayz_server.pbo.. for example lets say instance 11 (Chernarus) is running the dayz_server pbo on my one server... (which it is obviously) this is located in @dayz_epoch_server /addons lets say i setup instance 7 (Lingor) will it use that same dayz_server.pbo or is the other instances server pbo's placed somewhere else? For obvious reasons i wouldn't want to use the same server pbo in the new server. ooor would i make a new folder say @dayz_epoch_server_Lingor /addons/dayz_server.pbo? I guess then i would follow with how does the server know that the pbo is located here instead of @dayz_epoch_server /addons/dayz_server.pbo?? sorry if i'm making this sound confusing. Trying to explain it the best i can and trying to understand^^ lol Edited November 19, 2013 by ranoko
0 ranoko
or is it as easy as changing the .bat file that launches the server from: "-mod=@lingor;@DayZ_Epoch;@DayZ_Epoch_Server;" to something like "-mod=@lingor;@DayZ_Epoch;@DayZ_Epoch_Server_Lingor;" I might cry if it is this easy lol
0 ranoko
Ok that did work! for anyone else wondering all you have to do is change the launch parameters in the bat file to point at the new folder created for that instances server pbo. so by default at the end of the bat file, it points at -mod=@DayZ_Epoch_Server (this is were the dayz_server.pbo is located) This needs to be changed to the folder that you create for your new servers pbo.. mine for example is -mod=@Dayz_Epoch_Server_Ling Hope this helps anyone having issues : )
0 bsmaff
I would like to know how to properly install Taviana 2.0 and Panthera as I can't get either map to work. I also cant get Namalsk 1.7.5 to work, but can get 1,7,4,1 to work. I am sure it is prob something simple but cant get it to work at all.
