horbin
I have noticed many 'rollbacks' when running the server on a VM. It seems that if the VM gets rebooted, the state of the server is lost, rolling back to the last time the VM came up. For some reason REDIS's data saves are not being passed from the VM to the underlying OS. If I shutdown REDIS, then reboot the VM, all works 4.0. Anyway, I am not sure if this is an issue with my VM software or a REDIS issue. But I have not seen this type of issue with other database products. My setup: Ubuntu server: Oracle VirtualBox VM is a Windows 7 emulation Epoch and REDIS running on the Windows 7 VM.
f3cuk
I have no experience with Redis whatsoever but i found this an interesting read -> http://www.justincarmony.com/blog/2011/05/23/mysql-redis-and-a-billion-rows-a-love-story/, the parts below "Redis, the Advanced Key-Store" seems interesting and might explain what is happening with your server. horbin
Thanks. Looks like there may be a need for a default REDIS config that supports the mod on a VM. Off to do some experiments ;)
ilganna
Hi horbin, as stated on this other thread () I have a fully working VMs infrastructure and no issues at all. What are you using for your VM? Thanks -Michel

second_coming
I don't think this is anything to do with being on a VM, the database only writes changes out every 5 minutes (well mine does on the default settings).
