Vehicle deterioration

right now there is the option to change built items deterioration from 6 days to what ever you wish, is there any way that this could be implemented for vehicles as well.

A Vehicle deterioration script or something, so that after a restart or after a certain amount of time has passed a vehicle will deteriorate to the point of blowing up.

this way we should not even need vehicle clean up scripts or anything of the like and we can just change the amount of time it takes for buildings and cars to deteriorate.

this is because on our server we have notice that we cannot build large bases as it takes so much time to find the materials needed to maintain a base, so we set the maintenance time at 120 days, but this negates the vehicle clean up, so right now it it either we have large bases or we can have cars actually spawning it is one or the other instead of both

i do hope this makes sense

2 problems you have there. First, the 120 day clean up is gona cause much lag when too many objects are on the server at some point and never cleaned up. Second, they are going to not delete any empty vehicles that will sit around the map, as you have said.

To solve your problem, go to the suggested SQL in the 1.2.0.4 release, alter your object_data table to have the new field, which shows when the record was last altered. Next use their trigger to clean up every X amount of days, and filter it to select objects with characterID = 0, thus nothing owned gets deleted.

I also suggest reducing your 120 days to something realistic, like 30 days. If you cant manage maintaining the base in 30days then its just too large, IMO this is just a work around to cheat not maintaining as the game wasn't designed for that, but if its how you want to play it nothing is wrong with that. Just update the date of any of the objects you wish to keep for extended periods of time, with a new date in the database. If you want to not maintain it ever, set the year to some time in the future like several years, then you will never have to maintain a thing, ever. This will take away from the game experience IMO but it can kinda solve your problem.
