How to make several Chernarus Instances

We have a single dedicated server and on it a steam install of arma2 OA and dayZ_epoch we made 3 databases and one of them is currently a fully functional Epoch server, no errors or problems.

 

What I would like to know is if we could take like for "Instance 12" which is another map, and change it to be a completely separate Chernarus Instance. 

 

Also Our guy who made the Mysql database asked these two questions 

 

1. Do the database instances in SQL have to have different ports?

 

2. Can the databases be named something other than dayz_epoch?

Yes you can run multiple chernarus maps just by changing the instance numbers. So you would make a copy of the existing chernarus 11 mission folder and edit init.sqf  to change the instance and then just ensure your loading the proper mission via the config.cfg. When doing this the traders will share stock accross all servers with the same server_traders.sqf.

 

1. No, You would use the same mysql information for each server in the same hive. The only thing that should change is the instanceid in the mission file.

2. The database can be called anything you wish so long as you change the setting in the hiveExt.ini

Hey thanks for the quick response, Appreciate it greatly. That all covers my questions/concerns except that we don't want to do a hive. We plan on trying to make different experiences on each of the three, one of them being pvp oriented and easy to get loot, another making loot very scarce. We don't want people to ghost onto pvp to get easy stuff and then come on the other one where its easier to hide your base.

In that case just use a seperate database for each server.
