Are both of you staying logged into windows when running the server?
I am going to see if I can replicate your issue.
There isn't anything you should have to do after install.
-
I work on both however the Overpoch edition is not an official UEP repo, just based off of it. One of the people who uses my epoch build really liked my stuff and converted it to Overpoch and wanted me to help keep it up to date for him. Although I will be making an official Overpoch repo pretty soon time permitting that will be fully supported by me and my testing team. I will look into this problem however I have no control over what ends up in the current build of the overpoch.

When it says extract into server folder, which folder is this specifically?
The main folder so for instance if all my server files are located in a folder called dayz_server then that is what you would paste it in

OH I digress, text can be read two ways. The pack has 99% of the things I've added myself because the majority of people like the mods. Its great for those that want a server up and ready to go, I threw it in a test server to check it out. Copy pasted, overwrote, started it up... done. Best thing ever for people who can't script. This is what we used when we first got into trying our hand at being server admins. Its a great start for those that are afraid of tackling the editing of self_actions.. etc.
My pet peeve is "indestructible bases" or "don't crash your shit into bases". :) So I apologize I read it in the negative fashion.
It is ok I should have worded it differently. But I totally agree and that is why I created this project, I am glad to see that it working well for your needs. :)

Thanks for the input guys, I went through the code and fixed the hang up problem. My IDE auto complete added something that wasn't suppose to be there the last time I made an edit. Thanks for your patience guys, the fix is live on my github it took me a while to post it since I just got the time to set up my desktop again.

You do understand that I am encouraging destructible bases in that statement right....

hey im having a problem i do every step and on the last one after the second message inpput box the next step comes up and its blank and ive tried putting the batch location and what not and after i proceed nothing seems to happen
I honestly don't know why that would happen, download it again and try again?....if the problem persists there may be something wrong with your windows interpreter.

You can just install over it and windows will just ask you to overwrite all of the files and you click yes.

UEP Overpoch edition is now put togetherl, it is still a work in progress based off the UEP Epoch Forest Build but is fully operational thanks to help a new member of the UEP Team. Linked is the github where you find the files. We are still ironing out the a couple details but no major problems so far and the UEP Epoch Forest Build is also getting updates as well.

No becasue when i run the restart bat it works. It looks like to me that the delay between the server stopping and bec running the bat file is too long that bec shutsdown becasue it has lost connection to the armaserver.
If anything the wait time would be too short since bec doesn't care when it starts just as long as the server is fully running when it starts.
However I recently updated the tool for people who don't have a database password, since before if you didn't have one the tool wouldn't work.
The best thing I can recommend is to do a fresh install of your server and then use the UEP BEC Installer again. This is not the first time I have had people not get it to work then they do a fresh install and then everything is fine. Generally if the tool doesn't work right out of the box it is something that you have done to your server that is causing it not to work.
-
The simplest check to know if BEC is even running at all would be to see the messages come up in game. At least then I would know it's processing something. I am sure it's something extremely basic like my file paths are wrong but for the life of me, I've checked again and again.
The file paths shouldn't be wrong unless you changed file names from the default server install.

I am glad someone revisited the WAI Mission system I run a modified version of the old one and glad to see it updated.

Well I am now back to updating the tool, my windows became corrupted but luckily I managed to salvage the source code using ubuntu. Yay for linux

Make sure you have a bans.txt
Also for my problem i just changed it so it shutdown the server and runs the bat at the same time. This is ok becuase there is already a 7 sec delay built into the restart.bat
This solution may be caused by the fact that your computer takes longer to restart the server and bec is executed with not enough to time to locate the server since the server takes so long to start.

I personally have no idea why the restarts or messages wouldn't work. When BEC starts does it say scheduled 42 tasks if so it should be working. If not then BEC can't find your scheduler and you will have to delete all those files and use the installer again. If it still doesn't show up after that then idk
-
Well it must see the server since if it didn't BEC would just shutdown after a set amount of time. Make sure that your sql server and apache server is running, also make sure that your server is on the proper ports. Let me know if this helps you out. :)

No there are no tutorials for sqf which is the language that epoch addons are scripted in. However Bohemia has a long list of their commands in sqf with a small description at the link provided. https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Category:Scripting_Commands :)
I may actually make sqf tutorials on youtube now though since this is a problem, knowledge is power and the power needs to spread. B)

awesome work grave. But I like to manually customize my files.
You can completely change my scheduler.xml from the installer it is mainly there just to help people get started and to show how proper syntax for bec 1.62 should be set up. BEC updated how things are configured in their files in the last update so what worked before will just error out now.

I made a GUI installer for BEC that has pre-setup auto restarts and is released here on the forums linked below. The installer doesn't use any wonky third party software to auto restart and is supported by the creator of BEC. :)
-
I have an installer for BEC that is supported by the creator of BEC. Linked below is the forum page where it was released if you need the help, it comes with restarts already set up in it. :)
-
I made an installer for BEC and the creator of BEC supports it on the official BEC website. Below is a link to the epoch forum page talking about it. :)

I have an installer for BEC and it makes it much much easier, the BEC creator even supports it. :)

I have an installer for bec if you need it.

Please make sure that you entered all the proper information for your server like ip, port, and rcon password. After the install you should always restart your computer, I have run into situations in testing myself were this is caused due to a needed restart. Other than that I always recommend doing a fresh server install and then using this tool before modifying your server. If you have any more questions just let me know.
I have been slowly working the new update for the tool and it may come out in about 2 weeks from now since school just started and this is my college senior year. :)

Possibly I don't know.
BTW if you log out of windows then log back in the schedulers don't work for executing files, it is a windows thing. That is why my next version of the tool will have server virtualization which will allow you to log out without messing up the scheduler, which will allow for multiple servers to run on one box.
