One Player Joins Server, One Or More Others Clients Crash

SixOclock

Question

(I looked back through the previous 4 pages of posts and didn't see this issue covered, so if it is, I apologize for the repeat post.)

Several versions ago, when a particular person would join our server, it would kick a couple other people off the server. It happened every time, and it caused a client side crash to desktop to the unlucky players. The two people kicked off were random. Eventually, it just cleared up. But now, I've moved to a different server (Sauerland running 1.0.4.1) and when I join, two others get kicked. So now I know it's not just an isolated issue.

If anyone has experienced this issue before and found the problem/fixed it, I'd appreciate the feedback.

Thanks very much,

SixOclock

It hasn't happened on our server since probably October (logs are long gone), and the issue is cropping up on a server on which I am not an admin, just a regular Joe. I will say this, though; when I enter the server, two other random players clients crash back to the desktop. Further, once they get back on and I am also on, hitting either P or Alt will cause the same crash. Sorry I don't have the detailed log info (I know it would make this cake to diagnose) but I hope someone out there has at least heard of this.

Thanks!

Tell anyone connecting to the servers to remove all of their squad.xml information. There is an issue with certain clients reading other players squad.xml info (particularly the logo) and it is causing the client to crash.

We experienced this on our server for some time and researched all we could on it. The above was the only solution that seemed to resolve it.
