Mark4751
I have been having a strange fps issue for the past couple of weeks on a DayZ Epoch server, so I figured this was the best place to post about it. The owner does not think it is a server issue because only I have this problem apparently. On this server, My FPS will be a constant 35-45, but about once a minute, it will drop to around 8 FPS for about 10 seconds, no matter where I am, or what my settings are. Can anyone help? Things I have tried: Running Dayz and Epoch on a RAMdisk, Changing various settings in the config files, fresh install, messing around with launch parameters, updating drivers, and changing various in-game settings. I am running windows 7 64-bit with 8gb of ram, AMD FX4100 quad-core processor, and an Nvidia 9800GT. Thanks, Mark.
Aidem
I most likely not your fault, there is many scripts available nowadays which can cause allot FPS issue because of bad modification And just scripts its general can be huge FPS suckers My advice is try a few other server and see if the problems is there too
Mark4751
Forgot to mention that I think, I have tried on other servers, the issue doesn't happen. It is only this one server, but I am the only one with this issue on this server.
Bags2247
It would prob be a good bet, that your not the only one, just other people don't say anything about it Bags.. quick question, is it random or are you trying to do something or its "here" that it happens
Mark4751
It seems to be completely random. It didn't occur doing any specific thing, it happens regardless of what I'm doing or where I am.
axeman
Add -showScriptErrors to your startup and see if some script is creating an error at this time. Most likely is a load of extra buildings or AI though..
Mark4751
I'm not sure where I should be checking, I added that to my launch parameters, Nothing is popping up though.
axeman
Was just a hunch. Have you checked your pc at the time of the lag ?
Mark4751
What do you mean by that? It happens very often, only in this server.
axeman
Checking for any peaks in memory or cpu usage.
Mark4751
When the FPS "spikes" happen, it seems my CPU usage goes up about 10%, The memory doesn't seem effected.
axeman
Could be some AI or other objects being spawned on the server.. Really need to narrow down what is happening at these times to be able to then work out how to deal with it.. Have you tried a fresh install of Arma2 and dayZ Epoch ? Mark4751
I have tried a fresh install. Problem persists.
Mark4751
I turned my computer on, hit reinstall on Dayz commander for both files, and played for 10 minutes and never got the issue, I think either the files fixed it, or it is an overheating thing maybe. Not sure.
