Berreta
Weve noticed that with the suppressor attached to the SR-25 when shooting at upwards from 600m to 1km the gun shoots high. About 25-50m high. Im not sure if this is intended with muzzle velocity or some other factor? But with the suppresor taken off it is not an issue. LAYGO
Suppressors have that effect on all weapons. Longer barrel means the gasses can impart more energy on the bullet. Nic
Berreta
Ok just tested out the ABR with a silencer and it shoots high as well just not to the same extremity. So my mistake. Guess i just never realised this was in A3 before. Doesnt really make sense though for this to be in Arma since there is no way to adjust the sights accordingly like you would do IRL... Hopefully the markesman DLC will address this. With today's update, ballistics are now weapon based vs magazine based so that changes things up even now, so best course of action at the moment is to create a zeroing / drop chart for each weapon you plan to use. SPIB0X
Wait so every weapon with a silencer causes the long range shots to hit higher than expected zeoring? I always thought they caused bullets to 'drop' quicker when a silencer was applied... Can anyone explain in simple terms?

I always thought they caused bullets to 'drop' quicker when a silencer was applied... Can anyone explain in simple terms? To answer part of your question, the suppressor only makes the bullet drop more prominent when sub sonic ammo is used because it travels slower, and in Epoch there is no sub sonic ammunition. And a suppressor with regular ammo allows the bullet to leave the barrel at a greater speed which results in less bullet drop.
Osiris72
^^^ and the reason being is that the suppressor effectively adds length to a barrel, therefore the gases that propel the round act longer on the projectile therefore increasing projectile velocity. Another thing that most people don't realize is that the projectile actually rises after leaving the muzzle, if the velocity is higher, the rise is also a bit more, so even at shorter ranges you should see a difference in bullet impact vs zero with a suppressor. AlsoIn the latest Arma 3 update: Tweaked: Decreased the positive impact of suppressors over the weapons’ muzzle speeds to more reasonable levels
