This was added for the new patch and i don't think its fair. On the Vac Website it states the following and i don't see why people that are Vac Ban should not be unable to play. Cheating in one of the following Source games will result in a VAC ban for all games in the list and your items from Team Fortress 2 will be removed except any items that have been purchased: Counter-Strike: Source Half-Life 2: Deathmatch Day of Defeat: Source Team Fortress 2 Cheating in one of the following Gold Source games will result in a VAC ban for all games in the list: Counter-Strike Condition Zero Ricochet Day of Defeat Team Fortress Classic Half-Life: Deathmatch Deathmatch Classic It also states that even if u prove that it was not you doing valve does not care. The details of the ban will not be provided Steam Support will not disclose the cheats that were detected running on your system or the date and time the infraction took place. Any requests for this information will be ignored. So what happened to me was that my i find out that i am ban, even tho i never hacked. It prevents people with a history of a desire for instant gratification and giving into temptation and using things they shouldn't from joining servers who want to have a clean and secure environment. magnum11230 Posted December 4, 2014 Author Report Share Posted December 4, 2014 I don't see how that is security, all it does it it looks up vac bans. if people wanted to hack for games they would make new accounts for each game so it wouldn't show. While people like me who don't cheat but someone got ban taught that the vac ban would not bother in my other games since i don't play the games listed on Vac list so i continued to buy new games on the account and now this happened to so is it exactly a extra layer of security. But even that will be tough to beat soon as BE starts doing active memory scans like they plan to. Frankly I don't understand the objection. I moved on since it said it wont effect my games got arma liked epoch now i cant play cause i keep getting kicked cause of vac ban that happened over 5 years ago and since then i brought over 50 new games on my steam account.
