Updating mission/server files while server is running?!

mat2k

Question

Hey everyone,

before we had our own dedi, we got a hoster with a webinterface providing uploading files while server was running. So the changes took effect after the next restart and we didn't need to wait until server restart to shut it down, update the files and restart the server again...

At our new machine (dedicated) we cannot upload a mission/server file, while the server is running, because it says, that the files are in use.

So i thought setting up a ftp should help, but no.

Can anyone tell me if there's a suitable possibility to solve this problem?

Help is much appreciated.

Greetz

I have a batch file that is run just before server restart that copies dayz_server.pbo and mission.pbo from a temp folder into the correct folders. This way I can make changes, upload the updated PBO's and then on restart the PBO's are copied and replace the old ones. I also have it create backup's of the old PBO's and the RPT files on restarts.
