ToejaM Posted October 8, 2014 Report Share Posted October 8, 2014 Having been around since there was only 63 DayZ Epoch servers and held the number one spot for months, we're a reliable host and people know of us! We've also never done 'pay2win' like everyone else, yes we've offered rewards for donating but we also give the same 'rewards' to people who play on the server, who take part in admin events or people who just post on the forum.I've contributed ideas and minor code (depends how much you used for the nametags and indestructible bases ;)) to the cause as well as helped improve others scripts aswell, so I've contributed personally to the DayZ Epoch mod and I'd continue to do so for the Epoch mod as my scripting knowledge is always increasing.We only ban on 100% proof of which we have a forum with over 700 threads with evidence in for various types of bans and we would be a model community to host the Arma 3 Epoch mod.I understand you'll want a completely vanilla host while you are bug finding and improving it, you have my word that it will remain vanilla until the go ahead is given to modify it.We'd appreciate if you'd consider us to host! We have 17 admins on the 'books' (all volunteers, non paid, not even myself as we do this as a hobby!) though some are in hibernation waiting on various games for us to host but there are definately 11 who have been active in the last 7 days on the website, more are active daily on teamspeak and on steam/our current servers.http://www.CPC-Gaming.eu is our website. Nevertheless they may give the server files to this kind person. You said that they weren't looking for hosters,ok but why is there still no hardcore server in europe? Sorry I can only speculate on why there is no HC server in europe. If I had to guess I would say because there are two of them out there already and we are just testing. Our admin policy goes like this:You must be a regular and recognized as a regular by several of the admins so we can work out if you're admin material, if you are, we make you a moderator first where you have limited kick/ban (48hr max) abilities and no access to admin tools but full access to the logs and no access to the database.Once this 'trial' period finishes and moderators show an interest in checking logs/actively banning or helping people and they don't abuse their position they are then made an admin, once they are an admin they must wait a further 31 days before they can vouch for future moderators/admins but during this time they have the same admin access as full admins.The reason for the roundabout, long way of appointing admins is that we want to see if you can be trusted with abilities and responsibilities without abusing your position and if you can do this for the undetermined trial period as a moderator and the further 31 days as an admin, if you decide to go rogue.. chances are you'll cause a drop in the oceans worth of damage compared to the help you've given, so it works in the favour of the community. In the rare event that mods/admins get away with lots of stealth abuse, it will have to be so small and undetected that it makes little to no difference and as ALL moderators and admins have full log reading access, everyone is always susceptible to spot checks and scrutiny.The only person who has access to the dedibox and deletion of logs is myself and not even I can do that while the server is running, as it just won't let you delete the logs. Logs used to be deleted every three days but we changed host and have stupid amounts of storage space and right now we have almost a months worth of logs.CPC was started on the ideal of never having to deal with immature admins who abuse their player base and that no-one is above being banned for breaking the rules. Now that doesn't mean we don't have fun but it also doesn't mean we rock around as a 17-20 man strong team, far from it.. I believe at one point we had 6 groups that had an admin in and very rarely did a few (2?) work together and even then, most of the time was spent killing each other or attacking each others bases! The rare harmonious times was during admin events but if an admin died.. they jumped straight on the pain train and came to attack/take part in the admin event to!We are a model community and while we've seen a few bad eggs come and go who won't agree that we're a model community, the majority will. Dev team has said they are not looking for any more host. Sorry guys you have to wait for the server files like the rest of us.
