Chernarus 17 Vs 11

What is the efferent between those two ?

The layout of the trader cities and such is completely different. As well as the traders used. For instance, in 17, Stary has a thick wall all around it with 3 enty spots. So, as Rayden said, it does give variety. Not sure what Rayden meant by work in progress, because it does work. Sure, there is a couple things you'll probably need to tweak, but since when don't you need to tweak things for a fresh server install? This thread is a few months old though, so maybe in sept it didnt work.

 

If you want to see what 17 looks like to compare to 11, which is what most people seem to be running, I could tell ya how to find my server, or, just edit your current working setup. All you would have to change is the reference to the mission.sqf. In your MPMission folder find the mission folder you use, and open the init.sqf file. Find the following line, and change the 11 to 17, or vice versa.

 

// Add trader citys
_nil = [] execVM "\z\addons\dayz_server\missions\DayZ_Epoch_17.Chernarus\mission.sqf";
 
Save and restart your server. Now, you'll be running the mission.sqf for the other instance number, which has all the info for trader buildings, traders, and what not. The traders themselves might not work right off with out some editing unless you have all the trader info in the database, but at least you can see the layout and decide if you like it.
 
My server uses everything for Chernarus.11, but I have my init.sqf load the 17 mission.sqf instead of 11, and it works just fine. My trader info includes the traders for the other instances as well though.
