  1. We are running a Chernarus server at the moment and just launched a second server using Napf (both servers on a single dedi).  We would like to allow players to go between the two maps and maintain character inventory.  How would I go about doing this?

Is it possible to hive inventory only (no worldspace coordinates)?  Ideally each player would have separate worldspace coordinates between each map but still be able to take inventory back and forth.

    Thanks in advance

  2. Gagi2 is correct, if you purchase the vehicle AFTER you build the object it should remain there fine.

Yep, this seems to be working. However, after testing it appears that it works as a result of the ObjectID being a higher number and NOT the datestamp being a later date.

  3. so i guess the vehicles fell through the floor into the water?

thats why they are shown on these coordinates with damage = 1

so i guess the date of purchasing/spawning the vehicles and the date of building the floors is doing the same problems like with the helipads here...

do you had the vehicles already before you built the floors over water?

can you try and get a new vehicle from a trader and park it in there and see what happens after restart? (should remain on its position then...)

I'll try that, thanks for the feedback. Yes, I had all of my vehicles prior to building over the water.

Will this not cause an issue when the floors are repaired and the date gets updated? Or was that the point of the LastUpdated field being added to the db with the recent patch?

  4. So we started building our bases last night over water (a large lake) and everything seemed fine, even after a few restarts. We logged on this morning and our vehicles (cars and heli's) are gone. I have looked in the database and the vehicles are there, but the damage is at 1. Are we not able to build bases over water?

  5. Was gonna hi-jack another thread for this, but decided to start my own.

I gotta give some props to the Epoch devs here.  i haven't been playing Epoch for that long (about 4 months playing, 2 months running a server), but I just can't get over how awesome it is that the devs promote user innovations to the mod and then give credit at each update (changelogs).  IMO, this bodes very well for the long term future of Epoch.  Kudos to the devs and all of the valuable contributors that have made this mod so popular.

  6. and supposedly, the financier and boss of DayZPriv is the one who's been doing PR on FB.  When I asked about some sort of compensation (maybe a free month), he told me that was above his level of authority.  Even called himself a "lowly PR guy".  If this turns out o be true, could be quite damaging for Priv.

Edit:  And now someone has posted a link to the Oregon state business registry showing this "lowly PR guy" to be the head of G40Hosting (DayZPriv).  Ouch...

  7. I recommend staying away from DayZPriv.  Seems like they had a good reputation in the past, but are going downhill quickly.  We are over two weeks out from 1.0.2.4 and all servers are still running 1.0.2.3.  There have been several of us begging for communication and status updates on their facebook page, but they all they continue to say is "We've finished development of our new server manager and have begun prepping servers for updating"...that was 3 days ago.  I think they are about to have an exodus of server owners due to the horrible communication they've given over Epoch lately.

With their current FB postings, they remind me of American politicians; answering a question I didn't ask; giving me something I didn't ask for; NOT giving me what I DID ask for; and just flat out ignoring what their customers (constituents) are saying.

We are in the process of switching to VertHosting as I type this.

  8. They were a good server host before Epoch. I think they bit off more than they could chew with it. I switched to HFB, but due to their horrendous support times, I switched to Vilayer.

How is Vilayer working out for you?  We are thinking about getting one of their clan packages so we can bundle our website and TS with the server.  The fact that they use the same interface as HFB scares the hell out of me since we had our server go down for nearly a week when the start/stop function on the CP broke and the support times was ridiculous.

Also, what's the catch on the Vilayer clan packages?  512 voice slots  + web hosting + gaming slots seems a little too good to be true for the prices they quote in the packages relative to a standalone server.

  9. 1.0.2.4 is two weeks out and our server host, DayZPriv has yet to push the update.  They haven't provided ANY communication on when we can expect the update.  The only way to get any information is to submit a support ticket and every answer is "we hope to run the update within the next few days".  Is anyone else running with Priv?  As a server owner, it's absolutely unacceptable that nearly 80% of the Epoch servers are running the latest update, yet we can't get any information on when we can expect it.

We have already begun considering other server options, which is unfortunate because Priv's tech support has been outstanding so far.
