  1. Ill post this her as well as general discussion.:

Start doubling up on your walls if you want full protection. the mod is in alpha arma istself is pretty much still in beta . We are here testing specifically to find these glitches and report them. if you see someone else taking the initiative to find a hole. then you should take that same initiative and either find a way to fix it or report the issue to someone that can. complaining about a tester testing your base and base building parts for weaknesses/exploits rather then offering specific information about how they are doing it or how it can be fixes is a waste of everyone's time.

Any single layer Thin wall.(metal sheds, epoch corrugated walls, and any epoch door) can be vaulted or Crawled through very easily.

Currently a single layer of corrugated wall is more of a deterrent as it makes a player vulnerable as they climb through it. honestly this is fine in my opinios a corrugated eta sheet nailed to some 2x4's is not going to be very difficult to dismantle or make a hole in with your bare hands.

you can climb through using vault, going prone, or holstering and then taking your weapon out again.

doubling up your walls or using cinder walls solves this until a better fix can be made.

the biggest issues with epoch right now are not the insecurity of your stash.

1: Combat logging. anyone is able to log out (after a short 10 seconds)  or force quit the mission instantly. anytime they want regardless if they are being shot at or are shooting at someone. A sniper shoots at someone then logs out immediately and waits 5-10 minutes while people scan for or run off trying to find the guy or his location trying to find someone that isn't there anymore. after a safe time (10-15 minutes) the sniper rejoins in the same position shoots some more people and logs off again.

2: the rampant Duping of materials and equipment.

-logging off while you are still in your dead body then logging back in sometimes puts you alive at spawn island with a copy of your gear still equipped. sometimes it puts you alive with with a copy of your ----gear standing over your dead body(still equipped with the same gear).

-two or more players picking up any object from the ground or the inventory of a vehicle a the same time can duplicate that item.

this can also be done with a full uniform, chest rig, or backpack and will copy all the items inside.

-Using an Epoch vendor and a couple players with enough cash you can take any single item and copy them exponentially in the vendors inventory.

one player sells a single First Aid Kit to the vendor.

both players then buy that first aid kit at the same time.

both players sell the first aid kit( now there are two)

both players buy 2 first aid kits at the same time.

    now there are 4

    8

    16

    32

    64

    128

    ... etc.

keep in mind you still need krypto to be able to actually purchase the items and the vendor take a cut when you sell them.

(Adjusting and balancing Krypto values of vehicles and building materials(Especially)would make it so this was not a viable way to accumulate large amounts of valuable(but low krypto value) items

  3. you know you can delete any player made markers right?

and a vendor marker stays active even if the vendor is dead.

the marker does not get removed  until a server reset when a new vendor is spawned in at a random location.

green seems to be a new trader placed on the last reset, and a brown one is an established(from prev reset) black is perm trader at spawn locations.

  4. OK so how is a lone wolf meant to interact with the larger groups to join said groups (within game) without being killed?

1: Have something to offer a group (Skill / Time / Materials)

        - if you interact and whine in game like you have been doing in this thread your not going to get very far.

2: Interact on Forums, Teamspeak, Radio chat. ( if using radio, offer trades or assistance in game. Expect traps and don't ever say you are solo)

3: if your playing Lone-wolf you need to understand that you have to play very differently than a group of people.

-Its much more difficult to play aggressively in an encounter when you are outnumbered but not impossible.( and you don't always need to be aggressive to win)

-you need to take time know how many enemies and where they all are before you start shooting. where a group of 3+ can  usually just start shooting and figure it out as they go

    - it is much easier for you to move unseen Solo than it is for any group to move in the same space. groups are going to be shot at more often than a solo player

-you can carry more than one gun. usually 2 rifles and a pistol  are pretty easy to pull off... so USE THEM!

its very possible for you to make a group of people think you are more than one person. Fire one gun(Heavy sniper), then move position and/or swap weapons and fire the second gun(red tracers). swap back and fire the sniper again. Swap and run to a few different positions and you just might confuse them enough.. you don't need to be perfectly accurate with every shot, just make them think there is more than one enemy for long enough take eyes off of you while they try to spot the extra man or duck behind cover to avoid getting Sniped. you might even chase them off.

  5. A portable source of power recharging could be a solar panel that you carry on you. It could go in place of the watch. Wouldn't actually be too difficult to script out. If you have it on you, you can recharge energy slowly while the there is no cloud cover. If someone kills you, they can loot it off your body.  ...

    This is a fantastic idea.

I would think of it as a secondary source of energy and relying on it as a primary source for building  would be impractical.

would have to be a slower charge than what vehicles charge rate is already.

like a full day cycle of charging would give you very little,  just enough energy to keep your NVG's on for 1/4 -1/2 of a night cycle. you would have to use your NVG's sparingly.

it would be a small boost and you could gain energy from it AND being in a vehicle at the same time.

  6. LOL  that sense of entitlement....

for something that is a Free unofficial MOD thats prety much in a pre-Alpha proof of concept stage, For a game that is buggy as fuck and pretty much still in alpha itself..

... i mean they should have tested the patch or not???

    v THIS v

That's actually what you and everyone else is here for.

    ^ THIS ^

  7. if you log out after being revived you will spawn fresh and loose all your equipped gear when you log back in. its like being revived is removing you from any player save database or not allowing the game to renter you into it.

being revived will also cause the player to sometimes not be able to loot squishables.

  8. Currently in 0.2 it seems you only need to drink ONCE every 2-3 hours of game time to not ever have to worry about it.  if you cant find an empty jar+water/drinks in that time your doing something Very very wrong. Thirst and Hunger rates are near perfect IMO. and food/water is easy enough to find/buy from vendors. pre 0.2 you could go 6 hours or more before needing to drink anything.... hunger is even less of an issue.

    OP is silly.

the 0.2 changes are a massive improvement on balance.Love the new masks please keep up the good work (and fix the frequency jammers, and multigun revive issues)
