  1. i think arma 3 went backwards in long range shots compared to arma 2. at 400m i myself dont have a problem (talking about the lynx or m320) but at 1000m sometimes it gets weird.

     

    ill range the shot in with a range finder and lets say it says its a 1000m shot, well sometimes ill go for it and my bullet lands like 10 feet below where i shot. its very strange and im hoping the markmen dlc will improve upon long range shots. i actually have a video where im shooting at 1200m and my bullets are wayyy off and inconstant despite being ranged in and holding my breath for the shot 

    Arma 2 had the same problem but it was not so obvious. Not only are the scopes not centered but there is some random stuff going on some of the shots. In arma 2 my shots always went 1 milimeter under the center, i tried changing my resolution, fov, options and it didn't help. Every 10th or so shot in A2 was different from the rest, for some reason. I also noticed that server fps affects bullet travel speed or some shit in Arma 2.

  2. I expect him to be working on some sort of epoch AH bypass as we speak and release it to MPGH/UC etc and obviously make his AH block it.

    This guy has been stealing others work since his selling hack menu days. He may be a nice guy to his paying customers but this guy is a thief.

    Its worse than that, he steals steam accounts and then hacks every popular server that doesn't run his antihack so they are forced to buy it from him if they want to keep their server.

  3. He is the type of guy that will do everything to get what he wants and he has the power. While you spend time on making this mod better this guy will ddos you, hack your server, manipulate reddit with false accounts and even worse. Bohemia has failed, the worst scum on the internet that doesn't bring anything to the mods is profiting from their games and other peoples hard work.

  4. Take the C4 out.  Simple. Problem solved.  Oh wait, there are grenade trucks also and HE rounds on other vehicles that will probably make it into this version of Epoch. (who knows)

     

    If you take out C4, Grenade Trucks, etc then people will just kamikazi into a base to destroy it...over and over and over.  People do it now to blow up all the vehicles parked inside a base.

     

    So many other ways to grief someone's base.  In the end, i hope someone adds a custom script for this or the Epoch devs add the option.  I think early on it wont matter because I predict most communities will have to do wipes more frequently early on.

    What they could do is make only c4 be able to destroy walls and create a separate system for that. Something like coins, they are not a regular item. If they could make a c4 system that cant be hacked or duped that would be the only solution.

    So the desire for indestructible bases isn't about trying to create an ideal world.

    It's a protective measure which is taken against a very toxic (and very prevalent) part of the 'community'

     

    But its not a solution. When a scripter gets on a server and starts killing everyone do you put godmode on all the players? No, you go after the scripter. The epoch devs should focus on how to stop dupers and hackers from destroying everyones bases.

     

    If you are talking about normal players griefing the solution is really simple, make the c4 so damn rare that they would need 1 year of gametime to destroy your whole base that you made in 1 week. If they wanted your base gone, they would need to take over it and protect it until it despawns, enough time for you to take over the base and maintain it.

    I'm seeing a lot of overpoch, a lot of coins, plot for life, group management, vectors, militarised, fast building...

     

    Think about it for a minute,  step back and just look at the top 15 servers. There is something to be learnt from that.

    I played on DE1000 and Dystopia and those servers are pure cancer. They are filled with 15 year old kids that spawn fully geared with private helicopters and 3 min after you kill them they come back to kill you, luckily i always flew in armed mi17 so they couldnt do shit to me. Sometimes i killed them and they spawned fully geared right next to my chopper at balota, trying to shoot me down. Before i could even land the heli and loot them they already shot at me with a new character.  So what did i learn from this? I learned that the mod is dead. I really hope this doesnt happen to Arma 3 Epoch.

    The player is then confronted with a choice... start again from scratch and risk having that happen again -or- start again from scratch in a different server that will ensure this won't happen again.

    Now without the offering of an indestructible bases type system. The player may feel inclined to just say "fuck it, i'll go play wasteland/hide the sausage/king of the hill/cs:go/five knuckle shuffle instead... "

    The important thing to remember here, is that a game/mod is nothing without it's players.

    Theres another choice, gather the supplies and take over your old base, if they took all your stuff go raid their base and take it back. With indestructable bases after you build a base you are basically done with the game and only thing left to do is to camp on top of the base or just say fuck it and go play wasteland instead. Baseraiding and base takeovers can be a big fun part of the game if done properly.

  8. Yes, some prevention for the main ones and logs for the not so main ones means most are caught.

    I know for a fact that some people have been duping for months on your Arma 2 Epoch server and you guys still havent caught them. Obviously if someone dupes 200 briefcases and flies in blackhawks whole the time he will get caught but if you do it smart and use specific methods you will most likely never get detected.

     

    Even if you can catch the mass duper, if no admins are online he can destroy half of the bases before he gets banned. I remember how you guys didnt want to bother helping people on your server after your basemaintaining system fucked up. Half of the bases on the server got messed up and you ignored the people.

     

    Not to mention that duping is nothing compared to what a scripter can do to destructible bases.

     

     

     

    On our A2DZE servers we have indestructible cinder and metal floors, everything else can be destroyed, so if you put the effort in to make a base from cinder and metal you will be rewarded with a bit more protection. 

     

    That indestructibility doesn't stop base takeovers, but removes the easy "blow it up" method to gain entry. You have to be clever like camp it from a distance until someone is opening a door, or drop in from a heli and camp it out until the owners return.

     

    You dont make any sense. How can you take over a base If the guy has a secure plot pole room? What if he has a 2 door system in his base, even if he opens 1 door you cant get in?

     

     

    Why would anyone spend a week building something when some asshats can get on for an hour and completely destroy your base for the hell of it while you're not online?

     

    This would be easy to fix by making the explosives extremely rare, but like i said duping and hacking makes this impossible, maybe in DayZ SA epoch we will be able to have this.

  9. Dont worry HowHigh2, currently the explosives are much more common than they are supposed to be. This is mainly caused by bugs that allow duping of gear.

     

    Just have a break and come back when the mod is more finished.

    Duping never got fixed in Arma 2. What makes you think they will fix it in Arma 3? Also what about hackers spawning stuff in, they had to change the whole engine in DayZ standalone to fix that, and still havent fixed it completely?

  10. As I understand it Epoch won't be using any content not created by themselves.

    But I for one will be trying the Dino Mod when it's available to play.

    I think thats only for the Make Arma not war contest, after that they could put them in.
