  1. Can I suggest that the cap for Epoch Groups be increased from 16 players to 24 or 32?

We have a decent sized group that play at different times & we constantly have to remove and add players when they get on/off so everyone can play.

Also can you make it so moderators (or a new tier) can remove players from the group & set plot poles so its easier to manage the group. Its a pain when you have to wait for the group leader for almost every action.

    Just some suggestions.

If you dont have a large group then this doesnt effect you.
This is just to help out the larger groups out there.

    Welcome To Legion

Home of the best Arma 3 Servers
A community where we stand as one.

When Legion was first started we had the idea of creating a place where a community of helpful gamers could come together and be something great.

We believe everyone deserves a place where they can play and bring their skills together to a group where everyone is equal and your voice is heard.

We have strong roots in ArmA 3 with EpochMod / Wasteland / Breaking Point but our community is active in a variety of different games & mods.

Our focus is you! Our servers are great to play on but the players are what matters most to us, so you come first.

We are currently looking for players who want a laid back gaming experience with no drama or politics that enjoy working together as a team.

Being a gamer, you need a place where you can use your skills, feel at home and play your way with a variety of gamers in an easy going environment.

If you feel that you would be an asset to Legion, please apply and become an active part of our community!

    Thank you for supporting us.

  3. Thats no fun.

The whole idea of a persistent world is that it is ever changing and real. I think that if a team coordinates a raid when your team isnt on, its a smart move.

I dont agree with all the hard work of a base being destroyed by a damn heli kamikaze or vehicle drop, that is just too much work ruined in a matter of seconds.

I think that the materials should have an upped damage rate so these things can last longer.

  4. Overall Bornholm is a good map. It has some warts and I wish it had more Arma 3 buildings instead of Arma2 structures. Even so the map plays well and gives a good client frame rate. It looks good and is a good fit for Epoch. There are tons of places to build and hide bases.

On my Bornholm server we run missions and also roaming AI, Igiload and I have added several custom areas to the map to increase the loot quantity and I also run the loot spawner script to make use of enterable A2 buildings. But despite all that getting server traffic has been a challenge. I have about a dozen regular players but breaking past that number has proven difficult. Not sure why since the map offers what I feel is a great Epoch experience. Hopefully it will get better once Epoch provides native support and more people learn about it. My goal over the next few weeks is to post some gameplay videos of players doing missions and some base raids. Whether or not that will help is a crap shoot but it's worth a try.

I will definitely check out your server when i have the chance.

The general consensus is mostly that its a barren wasteland with scattered ArmA 2 buildings and only a hand full of cities that you could call cities.

I think that if new buildings or military zones were added in enough, it may make the map more enjoyable to some.

  5. I have been wondering about putting up a Bornholm server, but not too sure if there is demand for it as I see multiple servers that are currently up - arent really being played on much.

If there were custom AI missions, good amount of loot, with custom military areas, camp sites, & compounds that ARE available for building on, would there be demand for it?

I know the map is a hit on breaking point.

Thanks in advance for any feedback :)

  6. Does it really matter? It was created by the Epoch devs.

You guys are making it harder then it actually is. Let me walk you through it:

"I want to sell Arma 3 content created by Bohemia Interactve!"  Go to this link: http://www.bistudio.com/monetization

"I want to sell Epoch content created by the devs at Epochmod.com!"  Go to this link: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/

    Perfect ^

I definitely dont want to see a lot servers doing things only for the money - I can see if this happens the majority of the community will be sour.

We all love the mod and want to see it grow, with this BI release I think that if its approached by the Epoch devs in a good way then it can be a good thing.

Maybe set guidelines for anyone playing Epoch. If we remember from ArmA 2 Epoch - It was a HUGE cash cow and hosters were making big money each month, I do not believe the devs want to go back to that.

To my knowledge you are able to sell ArmA III items that dont give you an unfair advantage over other players and NOTHING EPOCH related because they have not given you permission to sell their work, & its that simple.

  7. http://www.bistudio.com/monetization

    Dear community,

Based on feedback from server operators we acknowledge that the costs connected to hosting a server can be prohibitive and thus rules out a lot of gamers/squads from being able to afford one, so we have subsequently agreed to allow limited monetization of Arma 3 Servers.

From February 1st 2015, anyone is allowed to monetize their Arma 3 server as long as they're registered, approved and listed onhttp://www.bistudio.com/monetization/approved:

    • Charging players to access your server, if the fees and associated perks do not affect gameplay in any way, is allowed. Cosmetic perks are allowed. Limiting access to only paying players is allowed.
    • Product placement, in-game advertising and sponsorship is allowed.
    • Selling of in-game items, that don’t affect gameplay, is allowed.
    • Accepting donations is allowed, but to avoid any doubts: not providing donations must not prevent anyone from accessing the content.

If we feel anyone on the list at http://www.bistudio.com/monetization/approved is exploiting any loopholes or is not acting in the best interests of the Arma 3 community, we will remove them. That will mean they will have to cease this kind of monetization immediately or face legal action.

We consider this to be a test run and therefore the permission is given for a limited time. It will expire on January 31st 2016. At that point, we will evaluate its effects on the Arma 3 community.
