  1. A lot of this just sounds terrible. I'll touch down on  a few points of why.

     

    Self blood bagging on most servers is reduced to about 4k HP on a 30 minute timer with a chance of failure AND infection. Some only allow in hospitals. It's also actually more balanced than just carrying bio meat everywhere and pounding 5 of them should you get close to death (and they are INSTANT with no animation) and just eating antibiotics. I used to do this in vanilla epoch. You can still do that sure with self BB but I'm just giving you an example of why self BB isn't as OP as you're thinking. It's quite balanced.

     

    I don't like safezones either but 90% of epoch players do because they go to the trader cities and waste 45 minutes leaving themselves exposed to being shot. So if you want people in your server you basically have to enable these in at least 1 of your trader cities.

     

    I play on a 4hour day/night server. Love it.

     

    I agree with no spawn loadouts.

     

    No AI (especially on maps like napf where even with 50 players you can go a long time without seeing one) is extremely boring. It creates interaction among players. Strangers will work together to do them. They also create PVP for those types. All around it's good....AS LONG AS they aren't loot pinatas.

     

    Also no indestructible bases is kind of silly as well. Since there's no reason they should be destructible so long as doors can be destroyed (This is how i've seen it on basically every server). This allows for raiding to still occur yet prevents people losing their entire base for no reason at all because a group of players had 45 minutes to waste on hammering down your base that took you a week to build. If you play on a server with no indestructible bases you either have the nicest playerbase ever, no playerbase, or you have other rules stopping people from destroying bases just for the sake of it.

     

    I'm also indifferent on the towing/lifting because it's pretty cool and I like using it to help people. It also adds a lot of different elements to gameplay. It is somewhat OP though in certain scenarios.

     

    well, i'm all in for buildings being destructible, but make cinder blocks cheap, put wood for sale and make chainsaws rare as fuck.

     

    it's all about balancing. If you make the effort to destroy a base too small compared to the effort to construct one, people just wont build bases anymore. Saw that happen in a lot of servers out there.

     

    and towing lifting deppends on the amount of vehicles the server has.

     

    Plus there should be a script to delete locked cars that are unused for more than 5~10 days or so. In most servers you dont get car/helicopter spawns anymore cause there's a fuckton of locked ladas/atvs scattered around the map.

     

    In a server that has no missions (which i find the best for base/clan warfare), not having choppers spawning screw everyone up, as there's just no way to make gold apart from that and getting killed on NWAF.

     

    Missions should be limited to cinder blocks or gold supply drops, with AI around that drop no weapons when killed.

    they're so rare that i tough they had removed it on some of the last patches, then i was in balota hanging around and bumped into one, just to be killed by an entire clan afterwards.

  3. Last I checked it's still an alpha and there's STILL a disclaimer present when you buy it....

     

    TLDR; slow your roll, killa. it's early in the game, my friend.

     

    i'll have to disagree with you, isnt early at all, if they had just put the mod in a new engine we would have more of a game than we do now.

     

    Rocket clearly have no clue of what's he doing, almost 2 years of development (he left the mod development to work on the standalone exactly 1 year and 9 months ago) and we have more issues than the arma 2 mod, on the shitty engine it runs.

     

    Each month that passes and i see no improvement on the most basic mechanics, more i lose faith in this game and more i'm sure that it was clearly a cashgrab.

     

    Hell, they even managed to screw up the things that were fine, like bullet dispersion and mouse acceleration, they're so clueless that they couldnt port the arma 2/3 system to the game, so they put in a shitty arcadey accuracy simulation where a handguard magically improves your accuracy by almost 200%.

     

    And now rocket's abandoning the boat, best move he could make, he already made all the money he could off DayZ's hype.

     

     

    Let's hope this H1Z1 game doesnt turn out to be a shitty game, at least it will be free, and not a cash grab disguised as a game with potential.

  4. My main issue is with the vertical rotor problem. It's the same behaivor as when driving. When the left/right keys are released, the vehicles wheels move to a centered position. This is fine while driving, but in a heli it brings the nose of the aircraft to its original bearing. Effectly limiting me to banking for all turns.

    I apologize if I am not explaining this well. I appreciate your time.

     

    i guess you're using the same commands bound to X and C on the keyboard, right? While you're flying, they cant be used, use the commands bound to A and D to control your heli.

     

    The vertical rotor is pretty much useless while you're at movement.

  5. Hello all!

         I just have a quick question about heli controls.  Sometimes when I am flying, my left/right pedals start correcting to their starting/center position (like when driving a vehicle).  This effectly makes using my verticle rotor impossible.  If I switch to auto-hover, then back, it seems to resolve the issue.   However, it returns shortly afterwards. 

     

        Has anyone experienced this problem and is there some fix for it?  Also, is there anyway to turn off verticle correction?  It would be nice not to constanly hold down my W key to keep the heli moving forward.

    what do you mean? if you press throttle while your helicopter is bend forward, it will go back to the 'hover' position. If you want to go forward while getting speed/altitude, you have to keep pressing W. Or you give up some altitude and just bend your heli forward to get speed.

  6. I was just Messing about in DayZ Epoch and thought of an idea, what if i could make "New" traders for say a "Hero" level 2, this hero would have 10k humanity in order to access this trader, and the trader would have a new list that only people with 10k+ humanity could access.

     

    i was just wondering, whether this would be possible and if so, which files would i need to edit on my server?

     

     

    then people will just infect a friend and use hundreds of bloodbags to acces it? No, thanks.

  7. Don't play our servers, they're a very unfriendly place and you will lose your life/gear/temper very often :D

     

    yeah, for the lag/desync, lol.

     

    A brief check on some famous streamer's last epoch videos will show the 'quality' of your servers.

     

    plus it is only hardcore for newcomers, as they have to dodge a ton of people with m107 and TWS weapons to get to any mission/high value loot area.

     

    They're not hardcore, not even close.

     

     

    @topic

    A hardcore server just need this:

     

    NO MISSIONS

     

    No loadout

     

    Destructible buildings (with lowered cinder block value, though)

     

    Put a barrack on NEAF and one in green mountain, so the pvp wont be clusterfucked.

     

    1st person only, with 3rd person enabled only when building.

     

    Higher ammo price, no satchel charges for sale.

     

    Low heli crashes/supply drop chance.

     

     

    And that's it, godmode is a must, with no stealing mechanics, as everybody knows that this game is full of potential trolls and griefers, you let them dominate, you screw you community up with no return.

  8. Safezone traders is a must i think, traders would lose their meaning otherwise. One could only go there as part of a group. A server that "doesn't suck" would have these features if you asked me:

     

    • No 3rd view, not even in vehicles
    • No crosshairs, no death messages
    • Dayz standard spawn gear, no extras
    • No bicycle out of the (tool)box
    • moderate to high prices at the traders
    • well designed missions both at remote areas and in towns
    • Night and daytime
    • Zero vehicles that are spawned by the server, they ought to be bought
    • No magic cinder bases, everything should be destroyable

     

    Would it be possible to protect trader zones by AI? They would treat everyone as friendly, but if s/o fires at a player, they instantly recognize him or her as an enemy and start hunting that player? I think this should be doable from a technical point of view..

     

    people would kill all AI and players from 800m+ in stary. on the other traders, a m4SD would be enough to kill all AI undetected then slaughter the players.

     

    Destroyable bases with high prices will only create a massive deathmatch where people wont even care to build a base, will only get a safe, hide it on the woods of elektro/cherno and pvp all day.

     

    Trying to make epoch "hardcore" will just make people stop playing it. No one likes to get frustrated and lose everything they have just cause people think this is 'hardcore'.

     

    Not adding missions and keep helicopter spawns low (vehicles need to spawn, and need repairing) already makes it hardcore enough.

  9.   Whats expensive as hell cost for you?

     

      I'm on a server that sells Stinger ammo for 10 briefcases each and I buy it all the time.  We have AI missions and towing so it takes about 3-4 days to have a safe full of briefcases though.

     

    Well, the vanilla prices should be based on vanilla, modified servers should adapt the prices to their economy.

     

    And stinger ammo isnt even for sale on vanilla epoch afaik.

     

    I guess 5 gold for a 20 round mag should be enough for a server that has no missions.

  10. BMRF Epoch had no AI, and no safezones either. Maybe no camping traders should be a mod enforced rule instead of giving godmode. You just had to go to the right trader at the right time and you'd be fine, i never got killed at Klen, only a few times enroute to other traders such as Bash.

     

    and was always empty.

     

    Epoch without safezones gets too frustrating, as any asshole that gets a CZ from a nearby barn can ruin all your days of work.

     

    And it's not easy to find a decent group to play with

     

    Some people dont have the time nor the patience to lose everything several times in a row.

     

    And how exactly a rule prohibiting trader camping differs from a safezone? lol.

  11. Well, as everybody knows, the VSS is a beast in the 150~400m range, so i tough, what about implementing tha AS val in the new patch, make the ammunition expensive as hell so it wont be overpowered, the weapon costing like 3 10Oz gold.

     

    I think it would be a great adition plus it would make the VAL/VSS combo possible, just as it is with M14/DMR and SA58/SA58 Acog.

     

    I'm not sure it this is the place i should put this suggestion, if you need to move it, so be it.
