  1. Welcome to Dayz... err..wait.. Ohhhh. Disregard that.

Most servers have rules about that type of thing at the "safe" traders.

Otherwise, thems the ropes in a sandbox game with minimal rules. It's also a major part of the charm of these types of games.  :D

  2. There are a great many things that could be added to Epoch to create a want and need for currency and considering we only have about 30% of the intended features, I'm hopefull.

I'd like to see more money sinks to create gameplay. For example, specialized traders. What if most ammo didn't just spawn in the game but instead there were a couple traders that only sold ammo? Like snipers? "Looks like you'll be making a trek out to the recluse trader in the mountains who makes the ammo for them. Oh, and be prepared 'cuz it'll cost ya."

That in itself would create a need for currency that would outweigh base maintenance. Plus, it would make players travel the map more, increase the chance for player interaction (not only near the trader but what if you spot some random player carrying that same rare rifle you have that your almost out of ammo for?), and to make things even more intersting, they could NOT show up on the map but you could get hints of their whereabouts from other traders.

    Like I said, I'm hopefull. :D

  3. I don't mean a flying base. I just wanted to know if you could make a wall have a perfect angle (or roof have a perfect angle) by snapping the wall to the floor or roof to the wall.

Yes you can snap walls to the outer edge of floors and floors/roofs to the edge of walls. Keep physics in mind when placing objects though. At least until they're fully built.

  4. While I don't think it should be like Dayz Epoch (the stock at those traders was a bit silly imo), it would be interesting to see how gameplay would be if the traders had a small stock of random items where no 2 traders spawned with exactly the same stock. That could make players want to visit some of the more distant traders to see what they had. It would also increase your chances of being able to "buy" that random item you spent days looking for without luck.

I've noticed that, in the short time I've been running my server, almost no one will sell the rare more sought after loot/vehicles. The traders end up full of all the things you find constantly.

I don't know all the future plans for A3 Epoch, but as it stands right now, there is no need for currency.

  5. I really like this idea. For anyone that's not a hoarder, you could build a shack in a town and no one would think twice about it.

In A2 Epoch I had resorted to just keeping a safe in one of the small white sheds in a field near NWAF. Worked perfectly.
