Consolidated Suggestion Thread

So to start this off, if yall haven't read already, VBAwol is taking a bit of a break from development as of today. He needs it, he is very undermanned when it comes to developing this mod.

I figured Id help out in some small way.

 

There have been a lot of great suggestion threads popping up recently but they have been all over the place and bouncing around. Some are even getting buried with all the great ideas coming in.

In an attempt to consolidate all the suggestions and ideas into one place, I am making this thread.

Its less about the discussion here and more of a ..well clearinghouse for the ideas.

Over the next few days I will bring in more and more of the really great suggestions around the forums.

IF you find one that I have missed, please say so.

 

This isn't about us judging good or bad, the key here is a well thought out suggestion. The devs can decide which they want depending on their direction and I am sure they will take note of which we, the community, seems to take interest in.

 

One thing of note, I don't plan to include anything related to base building here as that has its own thread. Think of this as everything BUT base building.

Improvements to Base building, specifically my suggestions on tackling the problem that base building is undermined as it is far too easy to deconstruct than it is to construct a base (1 suggestion to make fortifications need maintenance to remain 100% secure - 1 suggestion to make fortifications only remain 100% secure if a players is offline)

I'd very much like to see vehicle (car&heli) ammo revamped:

 

As it is now vehicles spawn with full ammo and are reloaded at server restart, so it is very easy for a squad of ArmoredSUV/HumveeM2GPK to completely shutdown air/street traffic without having to buy/find ammo.

 

It would be fabulous if at least for the potentially overpowered vehicles there could be a variant of the vehicles, buyable with 0 ammo and reloadable by the player. Appropriate ammo as spawn or trade goods. Decision if to replace these vehicles and about scarcity/price up to the admin.

 

Sadly I've no idea if this change is even possible. Perhaps a vehicle variant, perhaps as an expansion of the lock script (key lookup needs a DB lookup, current ammo must be stored somewhere, so that should be possible if less elegant).
