Let me begin with saying, im not telling the epoch dev team you're doing wrong or you are wrong in your project path as ultimately it is your mod. It seems the thoughts i have no one has brought into light as of yet.

The ideas and implementations put forward for 0.3 and forward seem very different to the general consensus of what people want and expect from A3 epoch.

To begin with building? If i wanted to play death-match i would go play KOTH or wasteland. Like many others, people use the epoch mod for the base building and that's what they expect to get a base building mod with cool other features. But you cant sit there and reply "we have a functioning base building system". Yes you do, but how functional is it? really? as an example has there been notice that an upgraded staircase is not the same size and shape as a floor and wall square and when you try and put walls ontop of it they sit about 2 inches higher than the walls around? Regardless of how you build your base ultimately after the 3rd or 4th floor the inconsistencies become so great that the walls begin to lean and tip to the sides? Also has there been any review on the "snap mode" as cinder doesn't snap to wood ect?

To be honest unless someones only building a 3x3x2 or smaller there is absolutely no way that the base building can stay symmetrical and proportioned. People complaining about the objects having physics are complaining because of this issue it has nothing to do with them liking the arma 2 system its that you essentially cant build anything other than a box with one staircase before S**T hits the fan. This is a currently implemented system, im not asking for something new, fix the current issues before adding more features and attractions its not going to bring more players if that's your current aim as many of my friends still revert to arma 2 because they have the general consensus A3 epoch is S**T. I am aware this mod is not a finished product but do you see BMW assembling a car begin with the engine that has a specific requirement not meeting the requirement for it to be working as intended then move onto building the rest of the car? Fix what is currently in the game before adding more features that can potentially bring more bugs and problems.

Continuing with building, (this part is my opinion and people may disagree) if you want a death-match game remove the building aspect completely. If you want to attract the survival/dayz/zombie crowd attention to base building and features people want to see? Because realistically do people want metal floors\panels, sandbags and camo nets or some random golem mob? Do people come to your mod to play it for something other than what you created in Arma 2? The features that were in arma 2 epoch is what people enjoy to use and want to play with. What other reason do you think people hop on A3 epoch for a week then head back to a CCG A2 server or the like after? They get bored of the current features not working correcting and the lack of features they like, want and are familiar with.

As far as blowing up bases go etc, if it wasn't so hard to make bases sit upright and could replace a blown floor without the floor flicking out at 10000km/h into your head whenever you try replace it people wouldn't care if a wall or 2 was missing. 1. don't build your base in an open easy accessible area and 2. hide your control tower behind enough walls/floor that it isnt worth the time for them to break through all the objects. I don't think explosive satiels are OP, maybe too common on some servers to find?

TLDR; this is all my opinion im not telling anyone to do anything. I think epoch team has done a wonderful job of collaborating many features together, some still have bugs that im not sure are epoch or arma 3 side so i cant really comment on the other things. I play A3 epoch because of my disinterest with the Arma 2 engine and its lack of customisability. But i feel your roadmap is extremely skewed and is not the correct path to keep a strong playerbase of the people that are here currently for this mod. By all means keep it on that path but step back and work on the implemented features you already have/features people wanted that you created in arma 2 before moving onto non necessity things.

community contribution and input is your biggest asset and tool in this industry don't take what people say with a grain of salt or argumentative, people want this mod to be successful and work the way the community wants it too. Like myself i am willing to contribute any way i can to help this mod because what as a whole what everyone wants it to be.

I agree on some points and not so much on others - Main thing I agree with is the priority should be on building because thats what EPOCH is... Like you said all the other bits and pieces being added are not really as important to the vast majority. Stairs need a desperate re-model for 1. Sandbags or half/height walls need to be introduced so people can actually sit on their man-built towers and scope/defend with some cover and the ability to shoot back... Right now you're either in your base with no way to shoot out or be shot, or outside it 100% exposed unless you build inside a map building which isn't everyone's cup of tea.
