Havoc302
How hard is it to set markers on the map like we did in ARMA 2 to stop players building over certain areas? I'd like to be able to block building of player structures over churches and inside military areas, is it just a matter of placing a marker on the map with it set as a trader zone to stop it? Or will that also create a god mode zone?
RangeCreeds
Right now it doesnt matter, as loot tables are shared for each building so you have the same chance to find a 50cal sniper in a small brick house, as you do in a Military base. But they could possibly do it off a trigger system using the buildings ID. Depends if they even want to limit the ability for players to build anywhere ;)
axs_grey
Just accept that during the Alpha, at least, you can build anywhere. There are more important concerns on the building side of things at the moment. Like how to combat those idiots that just glitch through walls and structures to raid bases .. either player built or within Arma
Havoc302
From what I've read Churches spawn better loot than other buildings.
boaby
I was thinking that if the walls of buildings were thicker then it would help with glitching in? Wouldnt it? . Isnt this how cinder walls are harder to glitch through than the thinner metal ones?. Anyone with more experience care to chip in as im new to the whole epoch scene and building in arma. what about a collision detection script on base walls where if someone glitches into that area they are killed and reported to an admin where they can explain themselves. Maybe even attach it to the jammer where it becomes a 30m area with glitch detection? , would this negatively impact performance?.
BioHazard050
IMHO, once you place a jammer, no loot should spawn in its AOE. In addition, you shouldn't be able to place it within a town. Individual buildings and compounds are ok though. Mondialo2k

See problem with this is people *accidently* vaulting into walls or trying to vault over something and the system detects them as trying to glitch into someones base and get wrongfully killed, some servers had a system like this in Arma 2 Epoch and every now and then non-glitchers would be get killed. turbobug
hey guys me and my clan found out that if you dont want strangers glitch into your base you can not glitch past cinder brick walls and also keep your cars ect from the wall if they can get close to them they can jump in the car so just be care full and smart about how you set up your base up.. Dont come in here crying about how strangers are glitching in to your base fix it... here are some solutions for you guys all these things you cant glitch...... wooden ramps, concrete walls too and also if you can doubled up and walls with a very small space between them you can not glitch in the base.. so take it as you will its not there falt not much that they can do.. Its bohemia interactive problem... PS Thanks for a excellent mod cant wait for next patch...
Nic
The devs don't seem to care where people build much. They condoned some guys taking over one of the huge military bases with H-barriers (maybe the one near the main airfield?). It would be a nice option for when the game is complete so the server admins can decide for themselves.

Actually it was built into Epoch so ALL servers had it.
Nic
There was a forum post that someone made that was about a custom script that prevented building within X meters of the class names of whatever buildings you wanted.
