How Was the Action Menu Removed?

The action menu was removed in the 1.0.2.4 update, Great for normal servers, bad for my server.

 

[CHANGED] Disabled action menu F1-12 and 0-9 keys.

 

I have A call bodyguards script on my server that if you have a radio, you can call body guards to protect you and such. But, with the removal of the action menu you cannot control them. How can i reenable the action menu so i can give them commands? Or, where is the change in the code in the server/client files so I can try to alter it on my own?

find in your compiles.sqf following lines and delete them

Sure when i get some free time I can look into setting up a tut on hot to work them. Right now the script is spliced in with about 12 others in my admin tools script.

 

Essentially the bodyguards script allows you to call in "Normal" or "Silent" body guards with a radio, hard to find and expensive to buy. The call menu has basic controls like stance and hold/open fire and dismiss. Normal players are limited to 2 body guards, donators get 3 as a "thank you" for helping me keep my server online. The body guards are dreadfully stupid, and will shoot through you to hit their target or kill each other trying to hit their target. They can be useful when paired with DayZBanditAI (not to be confused with the tamer SargeAI) and thus provides some balance. With the latest update the action menu was removed, a good fix as its a interface between the user and the game that isn't normally used. But, with the extended controls you can order your AI into vehicles, gunners are always nice, but the best is "pilots". You can potentially set a way point, tell a AI to get in as pilot and to fly to that way point. You can ride along, follow in another vehicle, or get conformation from another player that the AI has arrived. from there you can tell the AI to disembark and they will land the vehicle as best as they can.

 

As an admin its great fun to spawn in 11 AI (Max for Admins) and load up 4 black hawks with 2 gunners and a pilot each.(admin takes the 12 seat) and flying around the server with escorts. Or loading 10 AI into 10 Cessnas and flying them around the map buzzing people. Abuse yes, but funny as hell.
