exiting boats under metal floors

One of the players on my server has made a garage for his boat in a harbour. When he gets out the boat it says he is blocked by an object. If he takes one of the roofs off it then puts him on the roof when he gets out regardless of the height of it.

is there any fix for this?

I've had this issue as well it...only sometimes rather than the "object blocking" error it will crush and kill you and your body ends up on top of the floor. It seems that rather than side ejecting you like a land vehicle the game ejects you upward from boats. I have yet to experiment and see how high it ejects, so there may be a way to build a lockable boathouse with a higher than normal ceiling but it is for sure that single level boathouses will either not work or kill you. Since only a few maps really make boats worth bothering with it probably is low priority fix, if it is even addressed at all.

This is a very well known and very old issue.  Bets way to deal with this is simply not to put a roof over a garage area were you plan to get out of the boat.  Just make sure this area is secure from the main part of the base and don't store anything in unlocked storage items such as sheds (and obviously don't store anything in the boat because there's always those kids that go around with choppers and blow peoples stuff up when the owners are offline.  Your just going to have to deal with that fact that boats are not going to be able to be secured as well as you would like.
