boilede
hi! I've made a huge mistake. I skipped unpacking the epoch launcher setup files from epochlauncher.zip and installed the launcher by running the setup.exe out of the zip file. this had the effect that the launcher files were temporarily upacked to c:\users\...\appdata\local\temp..... and then installed from there. the problem now is that these windows temp files are regularly removed from that folder and thats what happend to my epoch launcher files. unfortunately the current epoch launcher is coded in a way that you have to keep the launcher files in a fixed directory from where you originally installed it. if you move the launcher files or delete them and put them into another directory the error "cant launch the application from this location" appears if you try to run the launcher from the changed directory path. so if you made the mistake (like me) to run setup.exe from the zip file so that the launcher will be installed out of a random temp folder that is automatically removed some time later and you cant remember the exact directory path there is now way up to now to make the launcher work again. Or is there a way? I havent found an option to uninstall and reinstall the launcher yet. I was already looking through the registry to edit the directory path of the epoch launcher but wasnt lucky. there are some paths given from the epoch launcher at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall but it had no effect if I editet these. Any ideas please?
Nic
I would try to go to the remove programs panel in control panel and see if you can uninstall it. Or just install it again in the correct directory and delete as many files as you can in the temp folder.
CrazyMike
I would try and manual uninstall everything you can to do with the launcher - run a disk cleanup or a ccleaner to clear registry and temp files then try again.
