Franco
I think a good balance between permanent bases and ephemeral bases as is the case now would be for structures to be destructable, but respawn on server restart. At the moment I am not motivated to spend several hours collecting cinder blocks and mortar only to have a gun truck or armed heli mow it all down within seconds. With what I am purposing your base could still be attacked, destroyed and looted, but you don't lose all your hard work in some cheap, shallow, boring way, such as with armed vechicles that are all to common. Snowmobil
I had the same idea: http://dayzepoch.com/forum/index.php?/topic/1410-respawn-destroyed-base-parts-on-server-restart/ :D Another thing would be, that they only respawn if they are near a plotpole. (and make plotpoles indestructible) And you can only build plotpoles xxx meters away from cities/roads etc. That way people could still build temporary bases/road blocks (maybe remove everything not near a plotpole at server restart). The only problem is that people would sometimes rebuild the destroyed parts, because they don't want to wait a few hours for the next restart, which would lead to a lot of unnecessary objects over time. One solution would be to replace the parts with the ghost preview models once they are destroyed, and add an option to rebuild destroyed parts.
