Ammo disappeared after relog for Zafir 7.62 LMG

Ammo (inside the weapon, not in backpack) disappeared.

I had the same thing happen to me quite a few times now.  The last time I was either on the same server or on the hardcore server, and I believe I had a Mk200.  I only had the one mag loaded, was being attacked by multiple antagonists, AI crippled me, hobbled in a house and logged out like 4 minutes before restart.

 

To be clear, and if it makes any difference:

1) The mag was partially used.

2) I sat in the lobby until the server dropped.

 

I know I had a similar issue in DayZ Epoch if the server dropped while I was still playing.  I'd come back and all the side arm ammo and bandages would be gone.  Not sure if it's relatively the same issue.  I'm guessing you should completely log off the server before it restarts?  Would it matter if you were in the lobby?

In my case...

1) the mag wasn't partially used, full mag

2) I left the server about ~5 minutes before server restart

If the active game/server has a script to save your data when logging out, going to lobby should be perfectly fine.

 

As I have looted something and immediately go to lobby and log back in with full gear intact, my 99%-sure hunch is "going to lobby" is enough to save your char data.

 

I had stuff missing after a clear log off and joining a day later also (esp. the NV, it hurts) so not repeatable. Server stress / pingtime might be involved; never logout with a red or yellow chain !
