Clan servers eta?

I'm not sure this is the correct area within the forums but my clan are looking to rent a server or two running Arma 3 Epoch and we we're wondering when we will be able to do so..Do you have a possible eta for private rental as yet?

hi geordie there isn't a release date yet epoch is still in early alpha the team dose not set a definite release date to make a quality mod for you guys but i hear that there will be a release at v.5 please be patient a little linger and you can keep up with they're twitter and facebook for live updates

Yeah, it's probably going to be a while yet until they start allowing the general public to access server files.  Part of the reason is because they need people to be testing what they're actually working on.  If they start handing out server files to a bunch of kids that will load it down with bling-bling(like people do in DayZ Epoch), they won't get the testing on their content that they need.

 

You have to understand, A3Epoch is still in very early stages of development.  They still have a lot of work to do and they need to be able to focus getting all the fundamentals in working order.

 

Let's use some analogy.  If you were running a car manufacturer and came up with a hot new design for a sports car but were having issues with the brake design, would you want to start pumping them out the door just because people are being impatient and want the car on the market?

 

They need to test the product in a controlled fashion so they can monitor their work more closely and move toward a finished product sooner.

Thank you for the patronising reply dude. I do understand all of the above, i'm not a 14 year old kid. I was just wondering if they had an eta because of the interest from my clan, that's all ;)

Well, I wasn't just posting that for you.  There's been a few people asking about it.  But yeah, I don't think they've had an eta for anything yet. lol
