"CfgWorlds" and Battleye.

jon5353

Question

Hey guys. I'm trying to set up a personal epoch server for a few things but I'm running into some issues. I'm fairly new to this, so bear with me.

I followed a 30 minute tutorial on how to setup the server. I copied over my ArmA2 and ArmA 2 OA folders into one big folder, put @dayz_epoch and the server folder in there as well. Went into Config-example, instance 11 Chernarus, edited my files and went back to the config-example folder. I think started the .bat for Chernarus, but it wouldn't find the beta server, which was in the right spot so I just edited the .bat and put a direct link to it in there. Went to run it, get the error "No entry '.CfgWorlds'. (picture here)Even after this error though, it still runs, only to stop at "battleye initialization failed" (picture here) Went to replace the battleye files at least in /expansion/beta/battleye but that didn't work either. I have no idea about the .CfgWorlds error though. The video I watched was

I know it is a bit outdated, but I used this video as a basis to know where to start.

I reinstalled Arma 2, Arma 2 OA, the Arma 2 beta, and the Arma 2:DayZ Mod, all on steam last night. I was thinking it might be an error with that so I did a fresh install, and I still get both the errors.

Sorry for the double post, but I wanted this thread to pop back up since edits don't.

Sadly it didn't work, or I did something wrong. Here is my process:

My base folder is on my desktop (C:\Users\Jon\Desktop\Epoch Server) and within that, two folders ("SERVER" and "Maps") The server folder has the main files in it for the server, along with Arma2 and OA. I moved the "instance_11_Chernarus" folder along with the bat into the maps folder (C:\Users\Jon\Desktop\Epoch Server\Maps\Chernarus) with the .bat outside the "instance_11_Chernarus" folder. Inside that same folder, I created the "BattlEye" folder and put the two most recent .dlls, BEClient.dll and BEServer.dll into that folder, along with the beserver.cfg. I only copied the .cfg on that wiki page you gave me. I double checked the other folders that you listed, and put new .dlls in them (the size was quite different, about 500kb for BEClient.dll and about 100 for BEServer.dll, assuming thats from the updates that have happened since the game came out) Also changed my .bat to this

@echo off
start "arma2" /min "C:\Users\Jon\Desktop\Epoch Server\SERVER\Expansion\beta\arma2oaserver.exe" -port=2302 "-config=instance_11_Chernarus\config.cfg" "-cfg=instance_11_Chernarus\basic.cfg" "-profiles=C:\Users\Jon\Desktop\Epoch Server\Maps\Chernarus\instance_11_Chernarus" -name=instance_11_Chernarus "-mod=@DayZ_Epoch;@DayZ_Epoch_Server;"

Apologies for the triple post!

I had a whole additional paragraph after my code, but it cutoff there and I can't edit past it for some reason. Not sure why. Anyways what I was saying was that since its a personal server, would it matter if I just disabled BattlEye? I tried doing that and launching the server, but I can't connect because "(files)... are not signed by a key accepted by this server. To play on this server, remove listed files or install additional accepted keys" Files in question are here. It seems like (minus the first 3) that the Epoch files aren't being recognized at all which makes me think that the server thinks it isn't an Epoch server? It goes right down the .pbo list in \@dayz_epoch\addons so I'm not sure. I am in epoch, I connected to a different server to get the right mods loaded because DayZ commander didn't recognize what mod my server was. In the top right, I've got "Arma 2, beta, expansion, DayZ Epoch 1.0.4.2" loaded. If I go into expansions, I have these ones activated. So it seems that I do indeed have Epoch active on my client, but not my server? After googling my issue, it has to do with the \keys\ folder, and in there I already had 'dayz_epoch1042.bikey' so I'm not quite sure what to do

Again, apologies for the triple post and thanks for the help!

edit

Also, I just looked at my console and with BattlEye disabled the server console doesn't output anything. There are times going all along the side, but no text next to it.

Alright, apologies for the 4th post but I got it to work! Turns out I got past the key thing by getting battleye to work!

ebayN00B's post made me realize something I could try. I moved all my files around. I put my instance_11_chernarus folder into the main directory where I copied arma2 and arma 2 OA, along with the .bat. I changed the .bat back to default and put the 2 battleye files in every folder (root\battleye, root\expansion\battleye, and root\instance_11_chernarus\battleye) along with a basic beserver.cfg (max ping and rcon pass only) in each of them. I booted the server, and battleye finally started to work and I could connect!

Anyways, thanks for the help guys! Again sorry for the quadruple post lol
