  1. We are aware. Standard Arma physics was one thing, start throwing in PhysX and which order to load your base parts / vehicles / storage parts etc. into the mix and it becomes a nightmare.

This issue was only just overcome in A2 Epoch, so we have a head start. For now, don't park your vehicles right next to each other ?

    Topic cleaned..

Awesome a proper reply from a developer! I wish I saw that more often here. Thanks.

gaps people dont park on the joint in the floor your tires will fall through just like your player does......

try doubling up the floors changing the rotation of the planking and make sure there are NO gaps.... test the joints by standing on them if you do the stupid floating animatino you have a gap.... squeeze those floors togeather

i have lost 2 vehicles (out of countless ones ive parked in my base) due to buggy floors/ build..... the first was my zammack repair cos a friend decided to squeeze a hunter into the garages..... server reset and the zammack sunk through the joint in the floor

the 2nd was a humming bird same again i landed with one of the skids on a joint and after a reset it was half in the floor... since noticing this i

-1 double up floors (rotating the planking direction)

-2 free place floors a lil closer togeather to minimise the floating over the joint thing that happens

-3 make sure your wheels/landing gears / skids arent on the joints in the floors....

since following these rules i have managed to keep the same hunter and humming bird on a server for 2 weeks in the same base, countless restarts and not a single issue

I'll have to try this out, thanks for your info.
  2. This has been an on going issue and many people are experiencing their vehicles exploding or being damaged while being parked on wood floors or near base walls. People have also seen vehicles being stuck or blowing up even while not on wooden floors.

Yes I can now confirm this, I build a garage on flat ground. But explosions still occurred. No garage, but a large terrain blocked off will probably give you a bigger chance you have your vehicles after restart..

  3. The best advice I got for your problem was a post in these forums somewhere, park your cars with enough space to "spin them 360°".

I followed it and I've had 2 hunters and a effrit in a 2×3 for over a week

Thanks man, appreciate that. I'll give it a try.

  4. Standard expected answer. I am getting different results, that's the stupid part. The car was standing there for 2 restarts till this happened.

I'm so insane for building a garage, what was I thinking! With garage doors in this game, it was a real dumb thing to expect to be working.

Meanwhile there is time for new spawn buildings, random useless ferris wheels and poppies.

  5. Full Metal Jacket, particularly 7,62 cuts through thin metal like it's no tomorrow. Only in movies can you hide behind a car door and not get struck by the bullets.

Is realism really a goal in Epoch? Because than there is a lot of work to do. The question is, what is fun and balanced in the game? If everyone thinks this is fine than I'm maybe QQing too much, but I think it's worth discussing.

  6. Hello,

We finally were able to build our own real proper base, while we were finishing the last steps(putting on the ceilings) I got shot from below by a guy claiming to see my feet.

After checking ourselves, we indeed found out whilst I was running you could indeed see my feet. But even while I was running, you could hit me and one bullet already managed to do 40% damage!

So I'm wondering, is this intended? Even shooting through a salvage metal wall did 70%(!!!!) damage on me. Building a base(which is basically what Epoch is) seems really pointless to me now. Technically we could build cinder walls, but you might still get shot from above or below your base. So frustrating it cost us so much time to build it, I felt it was totally worth and it was fun doing as well, until this happened. Totally ruined it for me.

If it is intended, can this be set on the server side(doesn't have to be indestructible, just has to have colliders like cinder)

PS: While I was typing this someone chainsawed me through my wooden floor. Great.

  7. 1. The server you were playing on.

    MGT

    2. What arma3 build and what Epoch build you are using.

    0.2.5.1

    3. What it was you were doing

Getting shot at by an M107

    4. Is it repeatable.

Unfortunatly, yes it happens all the time.

The sound of the M107 is very messed up at the moment. When a sniper shoots at you, may it be from miles or hundreds of meters, you hear it like hes there, right next to you.

Locating a sniper with this gun? Good luck! You know the direction, but you don't know if you have to look at the top of the hill, or in the field.

  8. Hello,

Me and my friend found a Blue smoke grenade for the grenade launcher. My friend had never tried it before and decided to just shoot it in a random direction. The second he launched it, he got a white screen and ArmA III was no longer responding. After restarting the game and reconnecting to the server he appeared for maybe 0.5 seconds and than disconnected again, his screen turned white again. After talking to one of the admins he gave us this part of the log:

    2014-10-27 21:09:43 infiSTAR.de | 1h 08min| Faalhaas(76561197981746280): No Ammo Loss - Removed Current Magazine: arifle_MX_GL_Black_F 3Rnd_SmokeBlue_Grenade_shell 10 3

So I guess what happened is, he didn't loose ammo, so he got auto-banned(??).

When I google "No Ammo Loss - Removed Current Magazine" I get no real info and I'm wondering if it has something to do with the Epoch Mod. I'm also wondering if someone has any information on this and can back this up.

The ArmA build was 1.32 and the Epoch mod version is 0.2 on the MGT server. I also guess this is repeatable by shooting another blue smoke grenade.

  9. Hello,

I'd like to discuss the fact that it's really hard to start building a base.

Me and my friends have been playing a fair amount since the patch has come out, mainly going about looting everything we see.

Tonight, right before we logged off, we were able to craft our first piece of Large Salvage Metal. I thought it was only needed to build the Frequency Jammer and to upgrade the cinder wall to create a garage door. But as it turns out you need metal for every single wall you want to upgrade. I can't imagine how long it takes to create a proper base like this.

Why is it so different from ArmA 2: Epoch where after a couple hours of playing you could have at least a small base. Is it intended to make it this hard for a group of 3 to create a base to keep your loot safe? Cause hidden loot stashes won't last forever, I'm gonna go ahead and say that for a solo player it's near impossible to build a base and for a group of 3+ it will take literally days of playing to build a base.

So why not increase the metal drop on thrash a lot more, so people can experience building? Because at the moment it feels more like the Wasteland mod without wipes.

Wondering what your opinions are, maybe we have been extremely unlucky as we have only found 4 Small Salvage Metal parts so far, but I really doubt it.

    Greetings,
