  1. Hi guyZ :) I don't know if this is the right forum to post this in, but I have had some strange things going on in my server - maybe a database hiccup or something? One day, while I was helping a player out, both he and myself suddenly died out of nowhere, and that same player has just reported, that the other day when he was flying in his Blackhawk, it suddenly took full damage in mid-air (and no, he wasn't near a mission), and crashed. The logs didn't indicate anything suspicious, but has anyone ever experienced this? It's like that specific player or vehicle suddenly gets "damage=1" in the database completely out of nowhere. Strange...
  2. Mikeeeyy, I tried yours, but it got stuck at "waiting for server to start authentication" for several minutes, and nothing really happened. I didn't check the logs, but tried Petite's suggestion instead, and that works like a charm. But thanks for helping me, both of you :) Server is almost ready to go online now .... ooooooooooooh :D
  3. Thank you for your suggestion, Mikeeeyy :) I have apparently messed up my database all of a sudden, but I will try your code as soon as it is fixed. And yes, you are right - when there are only 2 choices, if/else looks cleaner, and I totally agree with you on the OCD. I want my code to look good too, haha. I'll let you know if it works :)
  4. I have a script that gives different default loadout based on whether you are a regular player or an admin. Or so it should... I had it working fine on a Nitrado server a few days back, but now when I try to implement it on a Vilayer server, it doesn't seem to work properly. I also get the error "No entry 'bin\config.bin/CfgMagazines.'." whenever I spawn, and prior to that, I get the male/female selector every time. That's not right, is it? Like I said, it was working on Nitrado, but maybe I need to pay attention to something on Vilayer? And what does that CfgMagazine-thing mean? Am I trying to spawn something "wrong" to admins, and thus reverting to the regular loadout? Also, I am aware that <MY_PLAYER_ID> is stated twice, and that's deliberate. According to the forum I found this, you need to specify at least 2 admins for it to work, and I have tried both 00000000000000000 and my player ID repeated, but the outcome is the same. Can anyone spot the error, or recommend a better script than this? Thank you ;)
  5. Now, this is strange... I tried restarting it once again, and somehow it seems to work. Well, at least I can get into the game (and yes, it is Epoch), and Launcher says Epoch too now. I have no idea what just happened, because I haven't changed anything since my last post, except from restarting. But I did that before, too... Well, thank you for your quick replies, guys :)

I tried your suggestion, and the initial load screen says "DayZ Epoch", but I get enother error, "Picture z\addons\dayz_code\gui\mod.paa not found", and then I get sent to the main menu, where I can select options, player profile etc. I also noticed that in Dayz Launcher, my server says "xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx | DayZ" instead of "xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx | DayZ Epoch" - so apparently, Vilayer isn't loading the mod at all? I have tried to modify the server start settings in the Server Manager page, setting mod to "@DayZ_Epoch1051" without "", but that doesn't seem to make any difference :(
  8. Hi. I just setup a server at Vilayer, and when I installed Epoch, it told me that I had to remove Dayz Chernarus - so I did. Epoch apparently got installed, but now when I try to access my server in Dayz Launcher, it wants me to download part of the DayZ vanilla mod (~418MB). If I do that, I can start the game, but Epoch does not load, just standard DayZ, and I recieve an error "You cannot play/edit this mission..." Any clue to what I'm doing wrong here?
  9. Hey. Me and some friends have been playing on a german server for a couple of weeks. It is cool and all - hackerfree, with active admins and such. But there are too many stupid rules - "don't do this, don't do that". It kinda takes the fun out of the game. We're looking for a server with these requirements: - the ability to get in other people's camps without just finding locked safes instead of actual gear - to actually find a car that isn't locked We think the modular building system has taken the fun out of the game, like ... cool, we have a base built of concrete. It is locked, and we keep all our stash in safes. You have nothing to lose, and nothing to worry about, so what's the point of the game anymore? Before you could build bases and only had tents, you constantly needed to worry about other people finding your gear and vehiches, and that's what made the game so special and exciting. It was that adrenaline rush. Now, if you manage to build a base, what else is there to do? Sure, you can loot here and there, get in a couple of gunfights, and after that, return to your secure base and be perfectly safe. All your gear and vehicles will still be there when you log back in. Basically, what I'm saying is that we need a server that's totally back to basics. No modular building system, no locked safes and ditto vehicles all over the map, and no bullshit rules that takes the fun out of the game.
