I like the idea of a door that the jammer owner could assign who could/couldn't open the door. By default, the jammer owner should be able to open all doors, but then assign rooms' doors to specific members or groups of members would be nice.

The timer is to induce PvP & introduce risk. Everyone wants to be invincible, indestructible, and instantaneous, but where's the fun in that?

We've been getting these issues as well on our server: 0.2.5.2/1.40, items burn vs getting added. I've heard guns/scopes/ammo/etc being burned when trying to pick it up or arm it or move between chest rig/backpack.

Binding to T in general doesn't work for some reason. It doesn't matter WHAT you bind to T, it will not work. I use the Arma3 defaults. Maybe something about Arma, not Epoch.

Deposited $7,000 with out an issue tonight. Although, I tried to give away half of it so a teammate could deposit half, but I still ended up with all of it & he had half of it. ??!

FYI: jammers can be moved before the timer expires. Once it's set, it's set. I use this to position a jammer in a particular orientation I want all the time.

We've had shelves disappear when loot spawns in the area touching them, but they ALWAYS came back after a restart. I don't recall lockboxes despawning like that though.

Lots of great tips. I'm REALLY new to Arma3 too. I always tend to die because I don't think I'm patient enough. I think when I can find the enemy, I do ok. I have a hard time spotting enemy too. Lately, I've been doing a lot of free looking while running (or crouched moving at faster pace than walk, only running to get to more cover). I've also taken to stopping & recon'ing the area for a min before moving to the next cover.
Last night, that paid off because a guy that normally kills me was sitting in an unusual spot & while I was looking around, noticed him up on top of an antenna laying prone. From my angle, he looked like a dead body & since I'm still learning the game, had to lay prone to see if what he looked like looked like I did laying prone. When I noticed it was the same, I shot . . . & got the kill. I had to be in his blind spot though too. I was probably right at the edge of his visibility behind him, but of course 50-60m behind/below him.
Patience is key & that is what I'm learning. Move too fast, give your position away. In CS, it was movement that keyed you into a player. In Arma, there's a lot more moving (trees/bushes responding to wind, scope swing, etc), so finding the player moving in all that is important to get the drop.

Hey, I think the admins are doing a really great job of trying to find balance on this server:
http://www.gametracker.com/server_info/72.249.124.139:2302/
200 vehicles on 60 slots, mix of Epoch/Mas loot, 2 different mission systems, customized traders with safe zones, destructible cinder, etc. They're working on balancing the great loot with the ok loot & making the missions with dynamic loot. Right now though, IMO, the loot doesn't match the mission effort, but they've taken that into account & are already working on modifying it.
It's a fun server, IMO. I know I sound like an advertisement, but I like to evangelize good stuff.

This is the result of us paying maintenance exactly 7 days after our last payment:
Payment was made, 15 mins later, was a restart & that's what the base looked like. :\
-
it could show the time you last maintained the base when you hover onto the Frequency Jammer. Like 6 days left or 3 days left to maintain again etc.
This is an excellent idea. I'd also like to see the amount needed before hand. It could simply take the date/time from the oldest object entry from the last payment date/time to determine when the next payment would be due.
If it was an option like scroll wheel & get other options from Maintain:
- Due Date
- Cost
- Last Payment Amount (see what your delta is from last payment)
- etc, anything else that might be pertinent about bases that people would want to know
-
This might explain why 3 satchels, 4 explosives, 6 vehicles wouldn't destroy a 1x1 grid, 2 story tall box protecting a jammer. It was built inside the Cherno construction site.
-
Another posibility, is there a limit on how many items 1 jammer maintains. I have only observed this on large bases on my server. Over 300 items.
The base in question is a 5x5 grid, 3 stories tall, plus a lot of misc items laying around. 15 mins before a restart, 385 krypto was paid, it was exactly 7 days since last payment (we agreed as a group to pay every Sunday), after the restart, the base looked like this:
As for what admins should do, it's a case by case basis, but Merritt & his team provided us the resources to rebuild, which took 12 hours to do! Now I think our rebuilt base is haunted by the ghost of bases past. We have weird episodes where we run up to a shelf & start sliding sideways. Small gaps in the floors causes the glitchy floating issue big time.
