  1. Bases are mostly to attempt to keep your vehicles semi-safe from PVP when your offline and to not get shot in the head while opening your safe. Other than that they mostly serve to make you feel good having built a castle you will use 1% of, namely your garage door and your safe areas.

  2. I've had this issue as well it...only sometimes rather than the "object blocking" error it will crush and kill you and your body ends up on top of the floor. It seems that rather than side ejecting you like a land vehicle the game ejects you upward from boats. I have yet to experiment and see how high it ejects, so there may be a way to build a lockable boathouse with a higher than normal ceiling but it is for sure that single level boathouses will either not work or kill you. Since only a few maps really make boats worth bothering with it probably is low priority fix, if it is even addressed at all.

  3. In my opinion, we need to start fusion server/communties :)

poeple stopping cus there are too many servers to search for the good ones whit players.

hell, i even start coding arma 3 wasteland now

I think this will happen on its own as servers start to close due to lack of substantial player base and the 5-10 players on them move to other servers. Of course a few PVE types will keep little private servers to do missions on and build themselves to oblivion, but by and large I think most A2 servers will start to close when A3 epoch gets released.

  4. Run through an open field. Tweak video settings until you get best FPS with minimal features loading and slowing your frame rate. That's going to be your best case FPS. Loading trees, buildings, objects will always cause FPS to drop. On the server I play on I get 55-60 FPS average in the open and 35-40 in some of NAPF's bigger cities.

Sometimes to get best performance you have to give up some visual aesthetics. Just because your rig can run everything on very high does not mean that it can do it optimally. I usually try and strike a balance between pretty graphics and a FPS I can live with.

  5. I'm working on a small mod that will allow you to re-use your documents (they will not be consumed with the required parts. This way, players can borrow each others' docs.

If they added them to traders like they intended at some point of 1.0.4 development it wouldn't be necessary to make a non-consumed script. Besides epoch has more ways to make money than spend it so an additional money sink wouldn't hurt anything.

  6. I dug it up...it was supposed to be included in 1.0.4 but was removed at some point. I found a copy of the old change log so the work had to have been done at some point...not sure why it was not released:

[ADDED] Buying Vehicle Maintenance Manuals (added in 1.0.3) from the Vehicle Parts Vendors. @dayz10k

  7. Since the recent nerf in zombie loot, getting a full set of documents for vehicle upgrades has become something of a white unicorn hunt. I remember a few releases back it was actually on the list in the change logs to add them to the traders but then was removed from the list just prior to the release. Has there been any consideration of officially adding them to the trader again, or will it be just left up to individual server owners to manually add them as they see fit?

  8. This is something I've been thinking about for some time.  I'm planning on removing certain skins from the loot table and only making them accessible at hero/bandit vendors.  They'd still be able to pull clothes off dead bodies, but at least they'd have to work for it. =P  That was one thing I liked about Origins, being able to tell if someone is a hero or bandit by their skin, even though it gave you a random skin.

Someone port some Elder Scrolls into dis b*tch.  I'll be running around as a dark elf with an ebony claymore. =P

The only way this would work is if the person with the low humanity was re-spawned after death in a bandit skin, and there was a script restriction that only allowed bandits to wear bandit skins and heros to wear hero skins. Otherwise as a bandit I'm going to respawn and find a change of clothes or if the server has take clothes, shoot somone and take their clothes...then voila...I can go around looking like a genaric survivor capping unsuspecting people again.

  9. I have not played on CCG in awhile but on most servers the mission vehicles are wiped on re-set. There are some mission systems that write them to the database so it depends which one they are using. Also have you died inbetween  placing the plot pole and attempting to remove the lock? If so your most likely going to have to remove the plot pole.

  10. Even with all the fancy new guns I still roll with my PKP. To me its almost like using an SVD with a 100 round clip and full auto capacity. I find it sufficiently accurate to easily hit targets 500m or more out. In my hunt for the mytical chainsaw I have packed 4 gun racks, a storage shed, and three safes with overpoch guns but try as I like to find one of them to love, none of them work for me like a PKP. On the off chance that I expect ranges higher than 500 I still use the DMR and Lapua. The two overpoch guns I have found I like are the SR-25 which to me just is a re-skinned DMR, and the H&K USP 45 SD. The USP 45 SD mags seem to spawn fairly frequently, I like the signts, and while I don't know the blood damage, it seems to have a little more oomph than the M9 SD or Makarov SD.

  11. In real life people have reputations. But in a game where everyone unrealistically looks the same, log out of the world for varying amounts of time, and names can be changed in a moment, reputations unrealistically don't exist. That is why a reputation system is necessary in a game if you want to "actually live in an apocalypse." Reputations do exist in real life, bandits are eventually identified, and people do hunt them down.

Adding reputation would not stop any of the gameplay you mention, it would actually enhance it.

Most bandits I have played with are good enough that their reputation proceeds them when they log in, they are proud of their reputation, and people know when you see them online that they are going to be getting hunted. Sometimes people go hunting bandits but they better bring their A game. I think what your looking for is a way to identify griefers, not bandits. Bandits practice a play style somewhat more realistic IMO than a hero, griefers just play to blow stuff up, shoot noobs, and generally disrupt the game play of both heros and bandits. I don't think that can be controlled even if you made them run around with a flashing police light on their head and most of them, judging by the times they accidentally use side chat, are still waiting for their first facial hair. They are pretty much in with the same lot that think its cool to use hacks. A true bandit, in my experience, doesn't hide their identiy, they are proud of the amount of fear their name commands on a server. Pretty much the only way to control griefers is to set server rules and/or have active mature admins who enforce a code of conduct.

  12. I choose to play how I think I would actually live in an apocolypse. I usually end up hero but I'm a survivalist and if I have the means to take something from you to ensure my survival I'm not above banditry from time to time. That being said I don't care for red name tags or face masks so you "know" who the bandits are. Some people with low humanity I have played with were much more heroic to new players than some of the uber hero mission runners. Personally I don't do sensless violence, if I use violence it usually is a means to get something I need or to defend myself from attack.

I look at it like a real life apocolypse: you get less than 10 seconds to pick if you are going to befriend, hold up or kill the guy in the blue jeans running up the hill at you with a hunting rifle clutched in his hands. He doesn't have a neon sign over his head, no loudspeakers anouncing if he intends to offer you a can of beans or blow your head off for the coyote backpack you just looted. You make your choice, you live with it. There are no police, no judge, no jury....all that is in your hands. Forcing bandits to be visually identifiable would break the post-apocolyptic gang mentality that I believe would take over, with marauding people shooting and looting innocent survivors. If you enjoy surviving without ducking and dodging and doing only select human interactions, there are several servers which cater to pure PVE.

  13. Been having the same issue with the server I play on. Owner is currently on vacation but set the decay to -1 prior to leaving, plot pole says 0 parts in range. I timed it out and exactly 7 days after construction everything gets cleaned up. Is there another setting somewhere that controls decay?
