Hive Error on private server

I am running a private server on one pc and trying to connect with another using DayZ commander (my mate is also connecting from a remote location).

 

I had a server working fine using Epoch 1.0.3.1 but after making some changes and re- creating the server a couple of times I got the Hive Error "Error connecting to the service" whenever I tried to connect. This error was on the host machine and crashed the server when loading on the client.

 

Having completely wiped both machines of any evidence of Arma , Dayz and Epoch, CCleaned everything out of registry etc and fully reinstalled I am getting the same error.

 

I am now running 1.0.4 client and 1.0.4b server and getting the same problem. 

 

Pulling my hair out a bit here and could use some help.

 

My setup is basically in line with this tutorial but I have learned a lot since I set up the server like this a couple of weeks ago.

 

 

The server console reports the following:

 

12:39:09 Dedicated host created.

12:39:10 Host identity created.

12:40:17 Krimple uses modified data file

12:40:17 Player Krimple connecting.

12:40:17 Mission DayZ Epoch Chernarus read from directory.

12:40:18 Player Krimple connected (id=198192646).

12:40:36 Reading mission ...

12:40:55 Mission read.

12:41:25 Game started.

12:41:25 HiveExt(0): [information] HiveExt 

12:41:26 Database(0): [Error] Error 1045 (Access denied for user 'dayz'@'localhost' (using password: YES)) in connect

 

 

 

 

Like I said, any help would be most appreciated

looks like a password/sql account error

 

check you can logging to your sql database using that dayz account using something like heidisql.

 

if you can then check you have the correct password set in your hiveext.ini

It could also be the IP, try using 127.0.0.1 instead or localhost or vise versa.

Sorted.

 

I just noticed that the password at the bottom of the HiveExt.ini was correct but unused. the password near the top was incorrect.
