Making a new group leader mean losing base if new leader puts down pole before leaving group?

That title is perhaps not phrased perfectly but I was curious, if a member of my group puts down another frequency jammer and then leaves the group will he retain ownership of the base?  We want to make a new group leader because the current one is MIA.  We figure if new leader puts down a pole and then reinvites everyone to a new group, everything would work itself out naturally.  We are afraid to test it out because then we would have to blow up the 3 current plot poles we have, and 2 of them are stuck in geometry for safety reasons, and would be a huge inconvenience.

in my experience the pole is tied to whoever placed it , not the group. the group is added by the leader and hes the ones who placed it , my best guess would be that if you kick the leader and form another group then that base is his as its his plotpole. though im not completely sure what the circumstnces will be when you make a leader , place a pole then kick the old one. if the pole is still there then I think both might block each other as its different groups and youll be unable to build.

 

what is "stuck in geometry?" like glitched into a rock or building? can you even see it without having to glitch through stuff? as that seems a little of the cheating side of the coin there. it may be for "safety reasons" , but even the road to hell was paved with good intentions.
