slittcer Posted October 22, 2013 Report Share Posted October 22, 2013 When i first started playing Epoch the orbs were okay being that i was able to tag people as friendly and see where my friendlys were from far showing the green orb but being bad at the same because of how it gives you off so easily at night. Now in 2.4 with orbs being removed and there being name tags now, you have to be within 25m of a player (not sure) to see if they are a bandit, survivor or hero which imo kind of sucks being that this is the only way to find out. For example say theres 2 players running towards me that i spot from about a good 250m away and with the only way to find out if they are a bandit, hero or survivor is by getting up close and personal to them to see a red, blue or grey tag. Its just something that almost every player does not want to do resulting in KOSing so i don't have to take the risk of getting killed by those players who ended up being bandits and losing gear. Now, what if these players were heros that were coming towards me and i was able to see hero skins? Of course this would stop me from KOSing them, being able to yell out friendly and then being able to see what happens from there. Being a poor example haha this is just my idea as to why the hero and bandit skin should be implemented along with the tags as a great combination being able to find out if someone who is disguised as a hero really is a bandit. I think it would greatly decrease the amount of KOSing that happens in most Epoch servers. Some people can say just play on a server that already has this implemented (being those sneaky KOSing bandits) This being implemented to the mod itself by the devs would be a great addition, bringing in more players who are not into the KOSing business. As i can see, you can buy the hero and bandit skins from the vendors, but i have yet to see anyone actually do this. Wouldn't it just be better if we just spawned with the skin as a fresh spawn? Why should a bandit be able to get the disguise of being a survivor on spawn or why should a hero have to be stuck with a survivor skin on spawn after all the work they have done to achieve the hero title? Like i said this is just my opinion as to why hero and bandit skin should be implemented into epoch and i'm sure others think differently, maybe this is already implemented and just disabled by default but i wouldn't know that since i don't own an epoch server. Hummuluis Posted October 22, 2013 Report Share Posted October 22, 2013 Be interesting if once turning bandit or hero, that you were locked to a selective amount of skins so that each had a unique look. Survivors still getting some of the odd outfits until they switch over to one. Then again, Epoch is all about choices and freedom; and DayZ has always been about not knowing what disposition the person standing next to you has.
