Havoc302 Posted November 8, 2014 Report Share Posted November 8, 2014 I've noticed now considerable multiplayer desync whenever there's more than 1 person in a vehicle. I'll give two examples. 1. Three persons in a Hunter driving along down the main East - West road on Altis, another person alone in a box truck about 200m behind us following. The passengers in the Hunter are reporting that we're teleporting all over the place, to me the driver and the driver of the truck behind me we're not, I'm not desyncing (I checked), I have no lag and am on 30mb of clear channel internet at the time (I also checked my router), there was only 6 players online at the time also, so I doubt it was server side performance issues. I slow down to turn a corner then randomly explode the truck 200m behind me also explodes at exactly the same moment and the driver of the truck is credited with killing everyone in the hunter, we get back to the scene of the accident about 10 minutes later, the wreck of the Hunter is still 200m in front of the trucks wreck, my krypto is on the ground next to the Hunter, the driver of the trucks Krypto is on the ground next to the truck, BUT one of the passengers that was in my Hunters Krypto is about 10m behind the truck, that's over 200m behind where he was when he died in the Hunter. After the next restart we found the Hunter exactly where it exploded in perfect condition with the same gear in the Hunter that we'd put into it but the truck was nowhere to be found. 2. Found a Mohawk and fixed it up, it was very low on fuel so one of our pilots moved it to a nearby petrol station to fill it, after that we decided to sling lift our vehicle and fly back, I stay in the vehicle and he sling lifts it back to base, after dropping it off I jump in the chopper with him and we head back to sling lift a pickup truck we noticed in flight. We lowered the straps for lifting, they connected and we lifted off, the vehicle went nowhere and the straps appeared to have just came off, so we turn around and start to lower back down over the vehicle, before we even lower the straps again the vehicle suddenly leaps up in the air destroying the helicopter. For me as the passenger it often appeared to desync even though I was suffering no connection issues. I believe there is an issue with the server tracking the location of vehicles with passengers in them and as a result it reports the vehicle as teleporting between where each of the persons in the vehicles client perceives it to be. This is not observed on ARMA 3 in standard battles but is very noticeable both on Breaking Point and Epoch, I assume it has something to do with how the mods save the location data of the vehicles, you may need to take a good long strong look at that system. Costed us one of the big military trucks, and a ton of gear last night. We all have good rigs. Was on MGT server, been playing there the last few days. Only issue we've had there.
