GAMESPY SHUTDOWN: 5 steps to add your game to steam

Gamespy is shutting down support and it's got a lot of people worried.

 

We have been informed that there is a way to transfer your game to steam, if you don't already own the game through steam.

 

This is a very simple process but it will require a new download/install of the game via steam when done. So backup your mods before removing the old version!

 

Step one:      Find your CD/Activation key

Step two:       Open your steam LIBRARY

Step Three:   In the bottom left click ADD A GAME...

Step Four:    Click "Activate a Product on Steam"

Step Five:     Follow the activation process using your CD/Activation key as the product key.

 

If you bought the game digitally through amazon you will need to log into your amazon account and in: 

 Your Games and Software Library You will find your activation key.

Sadly I apparently can not activate the Operation Arrowhead that I purchased from Greenman gaming. I didn't buy the Combined Operations, only the OA, as I already owned Arma 2 on Steam. :(

I can confirm that my DLC from the BI store integrated just fine.

My Key for OA from Greenman Gaming is not in that format. Only Arma 2: Combined Operations CD keys can be added to Steam.

Servers with this version cant be find in in dayzcommander yet.

Has anyone tried a full update yet?  How are servers found if DayZCommander is out of the question?  I'm ready to update as well but unsure how I can get my population up....

Wont the ingame multiplayer server browser list the servers ?.

 

Mine is in there but then mine is on my lan.

You have to use the in-game browser to join a server now.

I just cannot join ANY servers

I have uninstalled  with steam arma and arma OA, reinstalled with steam

uninstalled with steam manually deleted the directories and re installed again and still cant get into any servers.

I can join servers from my work laptop (same account)

soo my servers have been empty since update 5 days ago to 1.0.5.1.1   Vilayer overpoch servers

I used dayz commander to re download epoch 1.0.5.1

I also manually downloaded it from epochmod.com

"nothing is working" 

I googled issue and found there was same issue with 1.0.4.2 and the CA folder for free ama versions or something

its been awhile but I think I paid for arma 2, steam says I already own it 

ANY HELP please ............

when I try to join an epoch server I get this error

finally can get into epoch I had to add a new launch parameter  @expansion\beta\expansion

 

 -skipIntro  -mod=@DayzOverwatch;@DayZ_Epoch;@expansion\beta\expansion -noSplash -noFilePatching -world=empty

 

when I try to join any other mod like overwatch I get this error

and i have an extra copy of arma 2 and arma 2 oa that i bought from the anniversary and i would be willing to trade for some thing if any one has another game up for trade in steam

Now that DZC is updated, I cant' get my server to show up on DZC. It shows up in DayZ Launcher fine though...

New DZC released and servers are showing up as they used to.
