  1. Script from And I just made it 1 .bat file easy to use all you need to do is edit the Config settings section and the command line. Make a new .bat file on your desktop of your windows vps or dedi Paste this in it If you run multiple servers create a file for each server on your desktop all you have to do is change the command lines and the config settings to suit each server on each file. This script will re-run everything from this label :arma2oaserver every time the server cmd box is closed so yes if bec shuts down the server after x amount of hrs the script will backup your sql will re-start Bec & the Server If your server cmd box closes for some unknown reason this will terminate connection with Bec and so Bec shuts down but dont worry the script will backup your database then restart bec and your server (dont believe me try it run this script then close your server cmd box while this script is running and watch the magic lol)
  2. Need a little help. I am getting a dedicated server box to run Arma 2 and 3 on and I have to buy an OP for it. I dont know which one I need to get e.g. window server 2008, 2012 or 2016.. Also what version e.g. Standard, Essentials or Foundation? Thank you for any input Terrance TBsGaming
  3. Hi guys, Apologies for the sabbatical on ZFM, but I come bearing gifts. On our server, one thing I really found frustrating was the requirements of BattleEye Extended Controls, because quite frankly I felt it was a big heap of config files for something that was a pain in the ass to update, and that didn't always work smoothly. So, I created this; a simple solution for Windows servers for managing server restarts, server crashes, and messages. It requires knowledge of creating tasks. What is it? ZST consists of three PowerShell scripts which are used to perform server restarting, sending messages to servers (i.e news, rules) and restarting servers in case of error/crash. The three scripts are: ServerMonitor - If the arma2/arma3 server instance drops out, it will restart it. Also performs the following tasks: Backs up PBO if it's changed. Moves log files in BattlEye, InfiSTAR & RPT to prevent them from growing huge. Performs optimisation of game databases. Performs backup of game databases. Supports backup to off-site location / cloud storage folder (We use SpiderOak as it's got good encryption) Backs up to WinRAR archives with password. ServerMessenger - Simple application that will send messages to a server for informational purposes (i.e. rules, updates, news, etc). ServerKiller - Performs the "server will restart in X minutes" function, and restarts the server. What do I require to run it? mysqldump (Should be default with MySQL tools or MariaDB 10) mysqlcheck (Should be default with MySQL tools or MariaDB 10) WinRAR (For archiving of backups) BERcon (https://github.com/zambino/bercon/blob/master/bercon/bin/Release/bercon.exe?raw=true) Knowledge of creating tasks on windows server : Where do I download it? Download it HERE: https://github.com/zambino/servertools/archive/master.zip How do I use it? Download the latest archive from GitHub: https://github.com/zambino/servertools Copy the files to your server in a location for an individual server instance (i.e Server1 or something) Open all 3 of the files and edit the settings to match the locations of your Arma2/Arma3 server, provide Rcon passwords, and so on. Open the windows tasks console, and create a task for each of the scripts listed above: For the ServerMonitor (ZST_ServerMonitor.ps1), set the "run when" to "system startup" and then create another "run when" which says to run the script after a set time, and then set the time to the current time. This will allow the monitor to start up if your server restarts and start monitoring your arma2oaserver instance. For the ServerMessenger (ZST_ServerMessenger.ps1), set the "run when" as with the script above. In the "action" dialog, set options so that the script runs every X minutes, indefinitely. This will allow the script to periodically open and send messages to your server. For the ServerKiller (ZST_ServerKiller.ps1), set the "run when" as above, and set the "actions" dialog as follows. The script itself takes 10 minutes to run, so suppose you have a restart every 3 hours, set the script to run every 170 minutes (i.e. 2 hours, 50 mins) and it will run the restarter 10 minutes before restart occurs to give players a countdown. For each task, select "run a program" and point it to your location of Powershell.exe. This is located in C:/Windows/System32/WindowsPowershell/ in most instances. For each task, in the "run a program" part, under "parameters" type in "-File <path to script>" and replace the "<path to script>" to the full path of the script you're creating a task for. A more detailed install tutorial will be added in a short while. :)
  4. I'm trying to get an Epoch server going on my Windows Server 2012 dedicated home server. I get everything copied over, set up, and running; no errors reported in server message box. I join the server using my external IP and it'll work fine until I quit and try to relog. When I relog it goes through everything as it should gets past authentication and everything but sticks on the loading screen just before I should get in and I can even hear ocean sounds. I did see some people have this issue, but, it's client-side. I know it's not client-side since I can join other servers no problem and if I restart my server I can get back in. I check the server message box after I get stuck and there's still no errors so I'm at a complete loss as to what's happening. Any help here would be greatly appreciated. Also, sorry if someone has posted this issue before, I've searched for days now and can't find anything on it.

  6. I have been recently trying to get a DayZ Epock server running on my box ruinning Windows Server 2012. The server loads fine, but never gets past the "Creating" phase. All players that connect get stuck at "Wait for host". I have tried both 1.0.5 and Both on the Chernarus map and Taviana.   7. I thought it was probably a good idea to have a resource with a list of helpful tools for Epoch server admins and mod makers that are not just Epoch mods. Hopefully it will help new server admins run decent servers and mod makers create content easier. Tools for server admin Robocopy - Like rsync for Windows. COmmand line or with GUI, can sync folders / files locally or remotely. Great for making a backup of files. Tools for mod makers (Generic) WinDiff - Compares two files and displays differences between them. Windows GUI version of the UNIX diff command. Part of the WinXP SP2 support tools free package from MS. Wingrep - Will search for a text string in files in various locations. Great for finding references to variables or scripts from unpacked pbo files. Windows GUI version of UNIX grep. DIffMerge - Compares locations, highlights differences in files and allows you to merge the differences. HamBeast wrote a great tutorial on it WinMerge - Compares locations, highlights differences in files and allows you to merge the differences. UltraEdit / Ultra Compare - Paid for product with many great features. SQF highlighting files are also available. Notepad++ - Advanced text editor with SQF highlighting download available. Sublime Text 2 - Advanced cross platform text editor. Free to evaluate but paid license required for extended use. Tools for mod makers (ARMA II specific) UnPBO - Extract files from PBOs. Kegetys Tools - Contains CPBO - Extract files from PBOs. unRap - convers config.bin to readable config.cpp PPAPlug - Experemental PPA graphic file format plugin for Photoshop. Bohemia Interactive Editing Tools Suite - Personal Edition 3 - Contains Oxygen 2- Personal Edition for Arma II - model editing and animation package Visitor 3 - Personal Edition for Arma II - terrain and map editing TexView 2 - texture convertor and viewer BinPBO - Personal Edition - packer Sound Tools - sound and lipsync utilities FSM Editor - tool to edit and compile fsms used in Arma 2 BinMake - conversion tool Tools Drive - main working directory for tools with mandatory data files FontToTga - utility to create fonts for Arma 2 Armaholic has a large selection here but I have tried to highlight above the tools that seem most popular or that I am using so can attest to their quality / usability. Source code repositories and version control. GitHub - Cloud based source code repository which is also currently used by A2 Epoch. Subversion - Source code repository software. Usually self hosted but some vendors now offer cloud hosting. CloudForge (see Gr8Bois info ) Post up yours and I will add them to the first post. If we get a decent list then maybe it could be made a sticky.
  8. Well I dont know if the Dev's actually read these suggestions but I am going to give it a go in any case. A couple of ideas for new content for the mod, don't know if the Dev's want to add new content or not but hey maybe they like some of these Ideas. 1. Ammo Crates - Instead of buying 10 safes and a couple of trucks and pitching tents everywhere why not make different size ammo crates craftable, much like the gunrack to store guns but ammo crates can store guns and high quantities of ammo. 2. Concrete Blocks - Arma 2 has them already, maybe a couple of cinder blocks mortar buckets and metal poles for reinforcing and viola you got a craftable concrete block , or even the mentioned recipe gives you a concrete ramp & if you have 2x ramps you can craft 1x concrete block. 3. Narrow Vertical walls - Something like the 1/3 wall but a vertical one for those annoying corners or even a wall the size of the 1/4 floor. Its a waste to craft another full wood wall if you only want to patch a small gap. 4. Large Windows - Basically a window the size of a full wood wall. use some tank traps as a frame and 4 or 6 windscreen glass and you are all set. For the modern homes. 5. Metal Fencing - Something like the wooden fence but that is made with metal poles instead to give it a more industrial and hardcore look. 6. Smaller metal floors - Maybe a 1/4 of the size of a full metal floor. Those are just a couple of small ideas that might make a difference. If it has been mentioned before I do apologize.
