  5. Hi all, Its been ages since I played A2 epoch/dayz. I mostly stopped because things were getting to easy. Banking, currency, no item weights, insane base building, high mil loot. So I'm basically looking for a server that fits a few parameters. Doesn't need to fit them all and any suggestions are welcome. 1: Cherno is my fav map. But anything with euro like forestry and such is cool. 2: Medium- low loot spawn, I don't want a assault rifle with holo sight within 20 mins 3: High trader cost. I want it to be a struggle to save up to buy my first SUV. Something that takes days, not a few hours of gaming. 4: Its unlikely, but a first person only server would be awesome. 5: Few military spec vehicles. I [email protected] mind a humvee with 50 if its hard to attain. But no tanks/jets :P 6: none of that spawn a bike BS, or build a heli out of scrap in your bag nonsense. Basically, I want a server where its hard to survive, and makes it count something when your desperately trying to kill another player. An element of RPG is something I miss in this mod/game. Hopefully to go along with this, a community that takes this approach. I used to really like Dayz because it reminded me somewhat of chess, each move really counted and there was an element of risk.   6. Hy, Im a long time Dayz Epoch player, but I wasn't able to play for a long time. Now im back and i can't find a good server that i like, so i came here to you guys for suggestions. Im more a survival person and not a (COD) arma player who 24/7 likes to shoot people, but a little bit PVP can be fun time to time. So these are somethings i like and dislike in a server. Things i like: Original spawns Roaming AI (not to much/to OP) Balanced mission & loot High trader prices (working hard for something, but the origenal prices are really good to) Animal spawns (for hunting) Vehicle towing/lifting (not bikes towing AC-130's) All around good FPS A custom map, but not to many addition's so it gets to crowded. Events can be funny time to time] Night time Rain Dynamic night lighting (citys with lights in the night) - TL;DR: a bit hard-core surviving Things i dislike: Guns spawns everywhere. Slow zombies To easy AI (retarded AI) jets/tanks/armored vehicles everywhere stupid map adittions duping players/admins that spawn everything (hate those peepz btw) Low trader prices 24/7 day - TL;DR: i dont like COD epoch servers If you have any suggestions or questions, pleas let me know! That's right, don't expect to be blown up by IED's or killed by an attack helicopter any time soon. Currently we have a fresh dedicated server located in Northern England providing you guys the best experience. 12 core Power7 processor, Database is in a RAMDISK, 10Gbit Connection from UK. Each and every script we own have been tested on around 10 servers within the 1 year of Survival Instincts being alive, everything implemented is there to improve game play to give each and every player the best time possible for every second played. CUSTOM ANTIHACK has been added from Infistar and Grim to ensure the server stays secure And the scripts are optimised for maximum efficiency to ensure the highest quality game play possible. Old trash from the server is removed manually, and bases despawn if left for 2 weeks without accessing them for the highest FPS possible. New Traders: You thought you had enough?   11. For the last 9 months I've been hosting a survival server. At this moment it has over 30 custom mods, 100's of scripts, harsh weather, reduced food spawns, custom crafting/building, Ai, trained dogs, cold/dark nights...the is lengthy. I have a few regular players who all state that the server is the best survival server they've played. Looking around at other servers it's clear that most prefer the pvp or pve elements with custom load-outs, tanks, jets and such, but I've been careful not to impose rules as surely the point of DayZ is such freedom. I have built a website which provides a batch file to join effortlessly. There are a few permanent military vehicles and I've also created several YouTUBE videos detailing some of the features. Needless to say I have strived very hard to make my server appealing, but I consistently see players join then leave within a few minutes? As such I get no feedback as to why? I absolutely adore this game and I challenge anyone to find an admin more committed. I'll keep the server open for as long as I can afford to, but I'd love for some-one to let me know what they think, to perhaps spend a day or two exploring what I've spent many months crafting/coding/inventing? Surely the point of DayZ is survival. If there's any survival spirit left in the player-base then you could do much worse... Is survival dead? Is DayZ/Epoch no more than an extension of Arma II/III?
  12. I'm curious. My longest surviving character made it 17 days until a server auto killed him. These days I don't seem to make it more than a few days. I've become a bit reckless since then. Seems more fun that way. Of course, it's never zombies. The real threat is the other players. I've lasted as little as 10 minutes, going down in a hail of automatic gunfire...... I love this game. What is the longest you've survived? (shortest dying to a bandit?)
