So, I am not experienced with big server setups like that of ArmA's (so don't expect me to be too computer-smart), but I have come a long way with setting up my ArmA 3 server until I got to my BEC setup. I've gone through everything the instructions say and everything should all be connected and working, but... I keep getting and error saying: BePath is not a valid directory Now, i know this should be a simple fix, but no matter what i do the error won't go away! I'm using TADST for my server setup, so I'm using the Battleye directory stored there. the path I put in the config.cfg for BEC is: C:\Users\andre\Desktop\Arma3_server_stuff\server_files\TADST\SirRapplez\BattlEye (yes I made sure I didn't have an accidental space put in anywhere... I'm not that stupid) I also put a BeServer.cfg file in the same directory as the BeServer.dll with the following: RConPassword password RConPort 2309 If anyone knows what my problem is, please help. I hope my question isn't super dumb, but I'm lost so, again, help would be much appreciated! Thanks.

After reading a couple of guides on setting up a DayZ Server for people to play on I have noticed that many tutorials have missing information or the user is left with different error messages to deal with or ignore. The following tutorial is based on my knowledge, trial and error, debugging and contact with different users on the issue. I hope to provide the most detailed, and easy-to-follow tutorial on the web. [Files Required] Steam. http://store.steampowered.com/about/ Arma 2 (Look at "Creating your server" section.) Arma 2 : Operation Arrowhead (Look at "Creating your server" section.) DayZ Commander, http://www.dayzcommander.com/ Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013, http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784 (x86 is for 32 Bit.) Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2010, http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555 WAMP / XAMPP, http://www.wampserver.com/en/ or https://www.apachefriends.org/download.html (XAMPP for this tutorial) HeidySQL, http://www.heidisql.com/download.php (I recomend getting the installer) uTorrent, http://www.utorrent.com/ DayZ Epoch Client Files, http://goo.gl/IN1Pt1 (Taken From http://epochmod.com/a2dayzepoch.php) DayZ Epoch Server Files, http://goo.gl/3GyZ0P (Taken From http://epochmod.com/a2dayzepoch.php) WinRar, http://www.rarlabs.com/download.htm Notepad++, http://notepad-plus-plus.org/ (Optional) Download this package made by Rotzloch https://mega.co.nz/#!uc9E0SgK!pZxZflTVTSs2jgYuBM6tUmBsYksAC4DtUeitSgmRfTU [Prerequisites] A Computer with atleast 2GB Ram for a smooth experience for about 24 players. (4GB for around 60 players.) Harddrive of atleast 25GB for the game files. A Good connection (40Mbit Upload / Download) Atleast a Two-Core CPU. [Creating your server] If you have any of the games installed previously, I would recommend deleting them to not face any problems in the future. Install the C++ Redistributable Packages and restart your computer/box. (I recommend to install both x64 and x86 if you have a 64bit Operating system. Create a folder, preferably on your Desktop called "Dayz Epoch Server". Launch steam, login. Download Arma 2. Download Arma 2 : Operation Arrowhead. Wait until they are complete. Launch Arma 2 in windowed mode, wait until you are at the main menu, then close the game. Do the same for Arma 2 : Operation Arrowhead. Launch DayZ Commander. Click "install/update" in the top right of the window. Install the Arma 2 Beta Patch http://i.imgur.com/RwNq8ti.png Wait until that is complete. Now, go to your Steam Folder. Usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\ Copy everything from inside your "Arma 2" Folder inside the "DayZ Epoch Server" folder we created on your desktop in Step 1. Do the same for your "Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead" Folder EXCEPT any folders starting with an @. Click "Yes" to any popups asking you to overwrite the files. Take a deep breath. The easy part is now done. Take the Epoch Client and Server files that you downloaded earlier and put them on your Desktop. Open them up with WinRar http://i.imgur.com/g48k2s5.png Copy "@DayZ_Epoch" from the Client files into "DayZ Epoch Server" on your Desktop. Copy "@DayZ_Epoch_Server" from the Server files into "DayZ Epoch Server" on your Desktop. Copy the "Keys" folder from the Server files into "DayZ Epoch Server". Open the "Battleye" folder inside the Server files and copy everything inside into the "BattlEye" folder inside the "DayZ Epoch Server folder" on your Desktop. (Note the difference in Capitalization.) Copy all the 4 ".dll" files from your Server files into the "Dayz Epoch Server" folder. http://i.imgur.com/vzYLZ4v.png Open up "MPMissions" from your Server files and find the mission that you want. I will be using "DayZ_Epoch_11.Chernarus" for this tutorial. Copy that to your "MPMissions" folder inside the "Dayz Epoch Server" folder that is on your Desktop. Open "Config-Examples" from your Server files, then copy the matching instance number as your Mission to your "Dayz Epoch Server" folder. We will use "instance_11_Charnarus". Copy "DayZ_Epoch_instance_11_Chernarus.bat" from that same folder into the "Dayz Epoch Server" on your Desktop. Setup and install XAMPP, then make sure mysql and apache are started. Click the "Admin" button next to MySQL in the XAMPP control panel. Once the phpMyAdmin page is loaded, at the top, click "Users". Under the Users overview, click Add user. Enter "Epoch_User" as the User name. (without the "" ). As the Host, select "Local" from the dropdown box. Enter a password. I will use "password123" but please make sure to use something more secure. Scroll down and click "Check All" from the Global privileges then remove ALL Administration privileges like GRANT and SUPER. At the bottom, click Go on the right. Now you have your user created. Click "Databases" at the top. Under Create database, type in "Epoch_Database" as the Database name then click Create. Now you have your database. You can go ahead and stop Apache from the XAMPP control panel, you dont need it enabled anymore. Inside your Server files, open up the SQL folder and copy "epoch.sql" to your Desktop. Open HeidySQL. As the session name in the top left, we will have it just named as "DayZ Server SQL" Hostname / IP should be "". User should be "Epoch_User" Password is "password123" or whatever you specified in your user setup. Click "Save" at the bottom left. then click Open. On the left hand side, you should see "Epoch_Database" go ahead and double click it. It should say "Database: Epoch_Database" at the middle tab on top. Click the "Query" tab. You should be presented with a text box, just drag your "epoch.sql" from your desktop into that textbox. Click the blue Play button above the Query tab or press F9. It should start executing the SQL into your database. You might get a "3 Warnings" popup at the end, ignore that. Restart HeidySQL and double click your database on the left, you should see some tables created. http://i.imgur.com/xBknVUv.png Close HeidySQL. Take another deep breath. The hard part is now done, you are nearly finished with your server! Go to your desktop and open your DayZ Epoch Server folder. It should look something like this. http://i.imgur.com/CHeOg9o.png Open up your instance_11_Chernarus folder. Open "config.cfg" with Notepad++. Edit this file to your liking, and set a "passwordAdmin" value for you to be able to login as an admin from ingame. Add requiredSecureId = 2; under BattlEye = 1; This is to prevent the UID spoofing. At the bottom, change your difficulty="veteran"; to difficulty="regular"; Save and close. Open up "HiveExt.ini" with Notepad++. Scroll down to the [Database] section. Make sure Host = Same with Database = Epoch_Database The same with Username = Epoch_User And finally, Password = password123 Save and close. Run DayZ_Epoch_instance_11_Chernarus.bat to start your server. (Optional) Open up "cmd" from your start menu and type ipconfig to get your server's ip. Put that into DayZ Commander as a favorite so you can connect easily. (Note) If your MySQL hosting is provided by your host, you can skip the MySQL setup part and not download XAMPP / Wamp and just use that info from your host. (Linux Note) If you are running a linux machine, and running Wine to allow you to run windows applications, please put "msvcp120.dll" & "msvcr120.dll" into your "DayZ Epoch Server" folder. A simple google search should help you find those two files. <Credits to Flodding for reminding me about this.> (NEW) Created an Auto-Restarter.   7. Is it possible to adjust oreveins & supplycrates? Problem: If i remove a supplycratewreck or an oreveinwreck in game other players are still able to see the wrecks and to remove them again. How to fix this dupe? Already tried this: and this: But none of both worked as suggested. So where to find the script of standardwrecks ( old cars, helis ect... ) to use them to fix this?   8. Hello everyone, I have set up a server with Dayz epoch namalsk. I've done this through many tutorials and help guides.. Unfortunately I have to clue on how to get it to overpoch and how I can update the missions files with custom ones.. I can't find any custom mission files on the Internet except for Chernarus ones but not Namalsk. If anyone knows a good tutorial on how to get to Overpoch or knows a good website for Namalsk missions like; roaming AI, self bloodbag, AI missions, custom traders, bike spawn, etc.. I would REALLY appreciate it!

  11. Hi everyone! I am currently in the process of setting up an overpoch server and everything worked until I tried to install Plot for Life (follow the tutorial and got the files from here: ). What happens is when someone tries to join it loads everything but fails to authenticate. I know its not just my arma because I have had several people try it and the same thing happened to everyone. To get it to work again I just have to change the init file back to normal and the server works fine again.   12. As the title says... How would I go about adding namalsk to epoch using one of the two server hosters? We are attempting to set it up for our gaming community and we wanna get one setup however we don't know how to begin adding the namalsk mod to epoch. I have only had experience scripting a server and setting it up and never once attempted to setup one like overpoch, or epoch taviana or anything... If anyone here can point me in the right direction I'd be greatly grateful... RR
  13. Issue: I've setup my sever, database, etc and I go to run my server. The ArmaII OA server window pops up and all looks well. When I go to check DayZCommander (to test via or use another computer on the same network) I see that the server is down (red and 0/0 and 10000 ping). However if I try to connect to it, I do. But when I finish loading the EPOCH screen I get an error saying "~can't play this because it is dependent on deleted content. m113, pook, jetski and some other guys" and it kicks me out. All the while I can see, via the Arma II OA server window, that I connected and requested data from the server and that I "disconnected" on my own. My Question: What am I doing wrong? I've got all of these files in the @DayZ_Epoch folder. My guess was for some reason when the server tries to address the pook.pbo (or whatever the file is) file requests it can't find them but I have no clue why. Other side notes: I am running this on a dedicated server (running windows server 2012 r2 [can downgrade to 2008 if needed]). Can I do this or is there an issue I don't know about? Am I required to run win7, 8, or linux? router is already setup with port forwarding (plus I can connect to the server so I know that is not the issue) firewalls are set off current (no issue there) machine: lenovo thinkserver, Xeon e-1225v3, 16gb ram, 256 ssd (nothing else running on it at the moment) => no hardware limit that could be the cause. *if you need more info I'd be happy to give it but I figured I'd keep this sort...er* Thanks guys/galls

    Changing host DB problem

    Hi, so this seems to be a recurring issue for me. I have a server that's been running for a few months. I want to switch hosts but keep my database. I've tried two different was of creating backups of the database and both had the same result. When I setup the new server it has a really, really hard time starting up... I constantly get kicked back to the lobby and it takes about 4 tries to get into the game. No RPT errors that I can find. If I put a fresh database in the server it starts up normally first try. The server does not stutter like this normally, just having trouble getting it moved onto a new system for some reason. Anyone know what might be causing this? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

    First Server

    Hello guy's First of all, English isn't my native language. For grammar errors and spelling mistakes I'm sorry. But I've got so many questions. I've managed to set up a server with many failed attempts. Since yesterday I can play smoothly on this server. The server runs acutally on my own PC. I want to edit the map for this server. Can I edit the map using the 3D editor so or do I have to first load the mission of Epoch? Or can I edit the map first and load it later into the mission. Or what should I do ? ( Oh, If you ask ? I want to play on Lingor ) After that, i want to change the locations of the traders, and add some Traders too. I can see the locations in "World Space" cell in the SQL database. Do I need to insert the trader with the editor and then new values ​​in the database enter. Or can I place the trader only on the database, which is pretty hard ? last but not least, I want to edit the loot table. I found some tutorials about that. I'll try it out with one or other tutorial. maybe there is an easier way to edit it. I hope you can help me a bit because I have not had much busy.   17. Hey everyone, Ok so I've tried reading everywhere and just cannot get this server to run using Vilayer. I've reset everything and am going to do this from scratch. Would love if I could get a walkthrough or the steps required to get this server to work. I have no idea where the .bat file is located! So information on that may help but would really love some help. This is all I have done so far. Install Epoch go through Epoch manager and install Overwatch files Thanks Meeko
  18. I realize that there are a good many videos out there on how to setup a DayZ Epoch server, but this one in particular uses MySQL Workbench (Which I have found is not used in ANY video). I recommend using MySQL Workbench because it is free and you don't have to go through some back alley to get it like Navicat Lite. The tool is much better than Navicat Lite and gives you all the power you need over your server SQL for editing traders, players, vehicles, and whatever else you need to. I have gotten a good amount of positive feedback from this video and this gave me the idea to post it here. I figured it has helped a good deal of people on youtube and that it may help a good deal of you here. If you have any issues setting up a server this video should get you up and running in no time.     Server Setup Help Needed

    Trying to set up a DayZ Epoch Server using the host XstremeGaming control panel and as it stands keep getting the dreaded error "This server is running an incorrect version of the server side application. You cannot play on this server. If you are the server admin please contact DayZ Epoch staff." I'm a noob to everything and since this is a hosted server I can't really alter or change that much - trying to run on the latest patch and ArmA 103178. We followed the KB from XstremeGaming but nothing works - tried reinstalling and repatching and restoring from backup over and over and over and over. Any and all help would be appreciated, and it would definitely be awesome if someone actually used this host to be able to guide us through the process step-by-step would be great. I am sick and tired of having to deal with dedicated server hosts who charge way too much for their service and when you need something, they can't even help you. I've seen that you could host a dedicated server on a VPS, but I'm not sure how I would go around doing this. I am trying to set up my own DayZ Epoch server for a while now and I have the server up and running (not port forwarded it yet) and I would like to know how to: -add custom buildings to my server, because I couldn't find anything that was clear for me on Youtube. -install plugins/scripts like towing/lifting -restart my server automatically every 6 hours (or 3 hours else if that's better for the server? I don't know. -add god mode around the trader zones -add extra trader zones I'm really a dummy at setting up servers but I always and up wanting one, so please explain it on a dummy way too. I'm running the server on my own computer, no hosting website, because paying is for dummies too.
