  1. Hi Epoch community, Have you ever wanted a way for players to be able to see your server rules while in-game? Are you tired of repeating yourself with simple answers to simple questions? Looking for a different way to deploy items or call certain scripts? Our community uses mostly scripts from this awesome epoch community. Its our time to give back :) I've decided to make a release version of my GUI for everyone to use. Download UPDATED FOR 1061: https://github.com/theduke77/Custom-Menu Or follow this link https://epochmod.com/forum/topic/43462-release-custom-gui-menu-updated-for-1061/In the video, i have my community colors in the GUI, the release version I tried to match the zupa colors. Video I've received tremendous help from SHIX. Most of the credit goes to him for explaining to me how to do this. also, I've used the code he provided as a template and built this from that. He kindly allowed me to share with all of you Ok, now for the fun part. This is NOT for someone new to the world of epoch server management. (probly because of my instructions lol) This is NOT a plug-n-play addon. You must configure all the files and customize the menu I would strongly suggest you have a test server to be able to test it as you create new pages. Try one page to make sure it looks good, then go from there. If you want to change the colors of stuff, check out the options section before creating pages. I will do my best to explain to the best of my knowledge. I'm far from being a coder lol Tools required Notepad ++ PBO Tool patience...with my instructions ;) TextView (optional) Installation: How to create new pages OPTIONAL Known issues Many thanks to SHIX. Without him explaining this GUI stuff to me I wouldn't of made it lol Thanks to Kill Zone kids blogs, they are amazing to learn from. Hope you guys enjoy it. I will support this to the best of my knowledge :) 16/02/2017 UPDATE Thank you to @Casual_Jeff for this 1.0.6 FIX
  2. This is just a really simple script i wrote to display rules for my server. My 1st script so dont be too harsh ^_^ How it works: It detects if you are moving or not and adds a menu to your scroll wheel. If unedited it will be red and read "rules" When the action is toggled, more menus (categories) come up, each of these menus triggers a small script to read some messages, or in this case, rules. Once the player starts moving again then all menus disappear, Rules is the only menu that remains persistent when stopped again, rules will again have to be toggled to bring up the other menus. (New Options now included) Before you continue, make sure you have a custom variables.sqf and the custom file for your method of choice before proceeding. If not. Check forums for the tutorial you need and return when prepared. This version HERE has to be closed manually. This version HERE closes the display when you move. If you have added this already and personalized it you may just want to add this: Screenshots: Menu 1 Menu 2 Menu 3 Method 1 - Scroll Wheel Method 2 - Right Click Method 3 - Tab Key Can be changed, just look up dik keycodes and replace the code with one of your choice. Just be careful not to use a banned key if using an anti-hack tool. Once you have chosen and completed one of the methods above, open variables.sqf and find: dayz_resetSelfActions = { and add s_rules = -1; in to the array. Once you are done with that simply create a folder called custom in you MPMissions folder then place rules folder inside the custom folder. If you have a folder called custom already just use yours. It can be placed in any folder including the root of MPMissions, but you would have to go into fn_selfActions and rules_init and change the paths in the addActions. Thanks to, -Ree- for the request post for something like this that made me want to do it. Thanks to, -Gr8Boi- for added options found in this post and for showing me how to make this much prettier. Thanks to, -Sandbird- for some tips and helping me debug some last minute issues. Thanks to, -CordIAsis- for the auto removal code. Thats all folks! Feel free to use, abuse edit, and release any variation you like. Just give us a shout out!
  3. I am working on finishing up my custom console script It's just a dialog box with a nice picture and sound effects. I will be adding functions and other stuff you can do later. For now it's just my way of informing my players about my server and it's addons As well as promoting my personal scripts :P [/youtbe]
  4. there should be a step by step guide for everithing. like, building: 1:find a hatchet 2:find a muli-tool 3:multi-tool works like *this* 4:energy works like *this* 5:materials are found like *this* 6:list of raw materials 7:recipes and many more points regarding all the basics like statuses in the debug, and how they *work*(how to get rid of them, or replenish some) i`m new to this and i need answers for all of this. only helpful thing i found so far is a hour long building tutorial on the youtube. Structure the information=no endless threads by newbies like me. Noob sticky thread with all the info would be perfect. Because now it seems like this is not the official forums at all. hope nobody is offended by my harshness, would really like to play this mod for very long time and see the community grow)
