  1. Hello, This post should help users that are looking for answers and have something unclear with the BASE RAIDING techniques. I will edit the 1st post to keep the answers up to date. "This way" - Ill mention topics that could help specify what I mean by the question deeper and also show you I know now and am not 100% sure of 1.) Essential for BASE BUILDing is the Frequency JAMMER, it reserves a certain area wher only the owner of the FREQUENCY JAMMER is able to build, correct? Yes, this is correct and TRUE. 2.) The FREQUENCY JAMMER can be destroyed, correct? Yes, this is correct and TRUE, BUT: it may take an HUGE (~20) amount of expolosice satchels to do so, and even this may vary from server to server. In addition, dont forget to check the rules, its a big difference between lootin, and stealing/destroying... 3.) What happens if an FREQUENCY JAMMER is destroyed? - can I move with the walls? and get in without any trouble? True. - can I place my own near and "take over" the base? Use it as my own? True. Yet check rules. 4.) Can WALLS be destroyed? Yes they can, so TRUE. 5.) What is the toughest building material and what the weakest? - when thinking over which part to strike, where to start? Cinder? Steel? Wood? Use common sense: Wood is the easiest to destroy - Cinderblocks the hardest. 6.) What is the best way to destroy a wall? - satchel charge? how many for which wall? - mine? grenade? any weapons? Basicly anything tha does 'damage' works, it may vary how much needed from wall to wall and from server to server, just try it out, but satchel charges are the most powerfull and prepare at least few (5+) for your attack. SCENARIOS: 1. I have a chopper and find a nice base, noone in sight, I land inside, place a satchel charge, blow off the frequency jammer, place my own and voila the place is mine. Possible? Well... No. A Jammer could take at least 20 satchel explosions and still be in tact .. So I would not count on that. But in theory, it may happen.
  2. First of all I want to thank the developers for the great job. Epoch is the best mod for arma and I really like to play it :) keep up the good work! I spent like 200 hours on the game and with that experience I would like to write down some suggestions which I think they will improve the game (I really don’t want to offend the developers. It are just suggestions). I wonder what you guys think about the suggestions and if you think it are improvements or if it brakes the game. Frequency jammer I really like to see the Frequency jammer a bit smaller so it is easier to cover up. ATM The Frequency jammer is hard to cover because you need 2 fully upgraded walls on top of eachother. If a small piece is sticking out people will shoot it down (even the small antenne) It also don’t fit in in houses. Should be good if the height reduces by 2. I see a lot of people making square boxes to protect the jammer and I don’t think that was the idea of the mod + making a box of cinder takes a lot of building material and energy). Once you destroy the jammer you can ruin a base in just 10 min, because you can move/open everything (also locked doors). I believe the jammer is way to important as it is now. Also with the new upcoming update you can remove building items (when you remove items you get the materials back I have seen on the streams). I really like that but in combination how the Frequency jammer is now it would be terrible for people who spend hours and hours on a base. Once you destroy a jammer you just remove all the base items to ruin people’s experience. I really like to see a good solution for this. its not fair that you have full acces/control of someone his base by only destroying the plot pole. Building a base vs raiding/destroying/removing a base is not balanced well I think.

Now I don't like the idea of indestructible bases before we start :) but this building system means any holes in your base are going to be a nightmare to patch up sometimes impossible as I found out by being forced to remove a full 50ft stretch of wall with doors and floor panels to do it. With explosives being so cheap and the addition soon of vehicles with guns its going to be very easy to spoil hundreds of hours of work.... How about this... We are in the future, the Cultists are robots (reprogrammed) with special powers, we have working heli's, electronic door locks etc so its not out the question that the frequency jammer (FJ) could have additional features with appropriate upgrades. 1) When a player is offline his base will re-spawn any destroyed components (its a mugs game doing it when they are offline and unable to defend themselves) i) This will still allow the base raid but the player will only suffer a loss of stuff not nailed down or in lock box's 2) This will start from the next server restart (so if you log out to try and exploit this during an ongoing base attack it wont work) 3) If you are online and your FJ has been upgraded (with say the head/components off a dead cultist robot) you get a warning (after 2 minutes) to say you have a player in proximity of your base, but only if they have shot at or damaged your base in any way 4) Any players camping you or just trying doors will not get flagged 5) Players can further upgrade their walls/doors to be "hardened" with scrap or something appropriate (but make it expensive or time consuming to do so) 6) It should cost a lot to break into a base, either i) Vehicle ammo (when if/it comes in ) is priced expensively so its an incentive for players to sell it rather than use it ii) The price of explosives are vastly increased with the spawn chance reduced (I took a wall down with a single satchel charge that cost me about £3 at a trader lol) 7) If we are upgrading the FJ with the components off a dead cultist robots and using it as an amplifier how about letting the player remotely set off the same damage attack a cultist uses at the expense of the FJ getting downgraded (the proximity sensor element needing an upgrade with another dead cultist). i) This will also damage the player if they are in their own base This way is more fitting with the game and does not punish those who are unable to defend themselves Thought?
  4. My base building was destroyed today, I mean 2 walls disappear... I had 5 cars inside my base and a lot of items (loot)... Frequency Jammer was maintained so this is not the problem.. I´ve lost everything and don´t know how.... No Server Restart problem neither, because we made this abse 4 days ago... PLZ HELP! Tell me what happened plz! Thanks...
  5. I'll start. 1. Whats the range of coverage, and is it the same vertically and Horizontally? 2. Do they degrade? 3. Can cheating Asshats glitch them into mountains or other inaccessible places? 4.?
  6. We found a enemy base to today on the skaronator dev Server (128.65.214.23:2302). After we destroyed there Frequency Jammer, we were not able to move the building objects. 20 minutes later after the Server Restart we could move the buildingobjects. We were lucky that the Server restart was so close, but i doesnt think that it should work on only this way. greetz Tbone
