I disagree, as mentioned above where is your energy stored in your boxers short? when you are running around half naked! does not make sense unless the developers are creating the playing characters as robots which would ne an awful shame thing to do and would take the whole survivor element out of the game.

     

    if re-chargeable items are introduced then that would make a lot of sense, and open up for use with other devices too not just NVG, I however think it should be taken out of building all together.. what energy do you need as a living character that can be re-charged to help you position a wall, energy should only be used with devices or other equipment that would help you build not as source of energy in the human sense of the word.. I hope I am making my point across clearly here.!

It is clear to me that banking systems are the way forward just look at the CCG servers and it don't take you a lot of looking around on the forum to find a huge community effort by a number of scripters here and days of testing and scripting to crack CCG's banking system... almost all the big servers that had banking system attracted all the players until it killed all other servers..

     

    I for one had a server that did not run banking system nor self blood bag because it would make the mod easier or so I thought but sadly not enough players agreed..

     

    Banking is a lot different than storing gold in safes! after all if epoch is set after the great infection when societies start to rebuild then I think Banking is a great representation of a sociality on the up and totally makes sense with what epoch arma 3 is set to be and the krypto system being a none inventory item that can be stored in storage items.

  3.  Great idea indeed, that with the addition of only being able to store energy only when you have such a device on you would make the mod even better.

     

     I am big on trying make it as realistic as possible and as realistic as it can be with having the random creatures in the game, I was big against self blood bags for the same reason on epoch arma 2.

     

     I was going to start another thread one against the use of multi guns with vehicle parts to shoot at vehicles, I mean I know the game is not 100% realistic but that takes the biscuit!!!! awesome to see the replies on here to my post please keep the good ideas coming!

  4. Pls no, that just doesn't make sense, maybe have the safes be able to keep your krypto. But if you add banks with the krypto that just doesn't really make sense because it is a special currency and not money.

     

    OK will calling it Krypto Bank not help the issue ? :-)

  5. I kind of think energy is already hard enough to come by. 

     

    That can be controlled by loot table, you can also make them part of player loadout when you join a server! its an option for admins to control, It can be hard to find or super easy!

     

    The argument is would that make it more realistic to how it works currently or not?

     

    The other argument is what is energy and what is the actual dentition of it in epoch mod?

    It is needed for powering you NVG and I been informed to build objects, given the character more of a robot feel than a player trying to survive!

  6. I like the bank system as long as there is some way to breach it.

     

    If people can just group and lock loot indefinitely, I think that is a broken concept.

     

     You can always look around bank areas to kill players, hope they have lots of money and they were about to deposit it or they just withdraw it to be something, it would cleaver idea to have banks that are in different location to traders so that you have more chance to get the prize! think that would work.

     

    If servers end up full of indestructible locked cars that nobody uses so that nothing spawns in, then I'm off.

     

    I hate that. It's fine as it is with the 30 mins lock. Build a garage if you want to lock it safely.

     

    server shouldn't be full of locked cars as there are server clean ups that takes care of unused cars and deletes them if not use for x amount of time, (its a simple sql query or at least was with arma2 epoch) if they are use regularly then you could attack the driver and take his keys, this worked a treat in epoch dayz.

Something else to be considered, I feel the energy feature is an awesome idea, it would just be even more realistic if the player energy only utilized (energy increase/decrease)  if the player had something like battery or charger of some sort on them, the feature to re-charge the energy in vehicles would be even more realistic ! what does everyone think? 

  8.  Loving the current currency system, I think it is set nicely for banking system, I think the developers should consider banking system, it would compliment the krypto currency system nicely.. something to be considered for next release maybe?

     

     My second suggestion maybe this is in the plan anyway but i will mention anyway, keys for vehicles when purchased similar to dayz epoch please, so i can log out after 5 hours playing knowing that my car will be there for me when i log back in..

  9. We played once and killed someone (in a clan) the player that died came back with in 1 minute with silenced gun and killed my friend who killed him! some sort of abuse going on, we reported but nothing happened that clan was there playing for hours and killing many other players.

     

    I guess they will not be wiped coz VERT sponsor the EPOCH MOD!! its great to see there server only have about 8 max players , we dont play on there any more! 

  10. I honestly disagree with this post. You say "I really love the break from zombies", yet there are exploding ZOMBIES (just because they label them sappers doesnt change what they essentially are, brain-dead AI that only mindlessly attack.)

     

    You were half right, many people were excited when they heard Epoch was going to 'move away' from zombies and towards other antagonists. Many people were also extremely disappointed to find out that they instead opted to have silly suicidal exploding zombies, and lame UAVs that only the newest of players are challenged by.

     

    Also, the 'Rock God' thing they are working on is a complete joke. This is not what people wanted, people wanted IMMERSIVE antagonists, like AI that defend a fort, ROAMING bears/wolfs that attack players (not just dogs). There are so many things they could do and all these EXPLODING zombies, silly grim reaper characters, and lack-luster AI spawning from extremely easy-to-kill and avoid UAVs is NOT the direction I feel like they were trying to convince people they were going in.

     

    Also, the medical system and vehicle repair system is an absolute joke. What happened to needing to find specific repair parts for your car? What happened to blood bags, epipens to revive and bandages? Bleeding isn't even noticable anymore, and really is hardly a thing.

     

    It is sad to see how simplified and dumbed down this version of Epoch is, I REALLY hope these things are just placeholders and they are going to realize their mistake.

    Remove the multitool completely

    Add specific vehicle repair parts

    Add specific medical supplies (bandages/blood bags/antibiotics)

    Remove exploding zombies

    Remove grim reaper

    Scrap the 'Rock God' idea

    Add interesting AI, like HUMANS that defend/roam/attack player bases, REAL animals!

     

    Seriously guys!!

     

    i also agree, just because they are called sappers or whatever and look weird with the arma 3 surroundings, but lets not forget its still close alpha , part of testing means that they can still look at adding other stuff and removing stuff that dont work. I just hope server admins will have an easy option to remove or enable different elements.

     

    Demons sounds good though so that the zombies have now turned into demons, but i would also like to add that if they dont add anything will still be fun, the building system epoch offers along with cool AI missions and fighting other players is more than enough to keep me playing the mod 

  11. Loot is terrible tonight, another night wasted here, i spend 2 hours and searched three cities all i found was 2 mags!!!!!!!!!! lots of bugged sofas and cupboards that dont open, taking my time and slowling down did not help either.

     

    slowing down = find nothing even slower.

     

    on the plus side i would like to tell the devs that walking and running is working fine tonight! sorry all i can test for u , oh i died because of a glitch outside a house!!

     

    i miss playing epoch arma 2 so i am going to spend some time on that , i will try it again few days , happy testing

So I was I been playing on one of the official servers when i sold a multi gun thing and sold other items and had lots of money, logging next day to continue on my way to another trader to find that my character looks re-set to fresh and i was again at the spawning point! it was annoying but thought oh well its alpha after all and maybe the server had a wipe! continued to play until i got killed when i decided to call it a day few hours later i thought lets go back on and this time I spawned fresh in the debug place before you choose to teleport only this time i had the same gear i had 3 life ago! the same gun and stupid helmet i was wearing but not the same character that had lots of gear and money on him it was the life before that!!!

     

    Any one had this?? i am now thinking this isn't a server wipe! it could be a glitch here?

     

    ps: yes i was sure it was all the same server i normally play on!

Hey sorry my bad for not putting this, my problem isnt because the option to get in as driver or passenger isnt there, they are there when i click to sit in it doesnt happen, when i click my inventory key i dont have the option to unlock , i only see Lock which suggests the car is already unlocked then i exit out of that menu and scroll on the car select to sit in as driver or in the back and my character tries to do the animation but it doesnt actually go in he remains standing outside it , this like i said happened to me in a number of server and in the smaller looking cars i havent tried any other yet.

     

    another problem i had was once when i got on the back of a jet ski with a driver he was able to get out, i wasnt my character would freeze on it i had to press esc and kill myself by selecting re-spawn.

I agree for testing you should increase the loot, broken leg and having to kill yourself because you cant heal or get enough food/supplies etc is only gonna slow down bug reporting, not to mention testing other unique items that not everyone has come accross, increase now help testing then when you release the game official have whatever you want setting !!

    I think Demons are cool idea, suicide bombers (sapper) hmm right now not too sure i am waiting to see improvement, hopefully its an option for server admins to select which creatures are added to their server.

     

    You ever seen a terrible Photoshop edit? where someone photo edited  (this is not a dig at the developers by the way)  but these creatures look out place with arma 3 surroundings!!

     

    I never written an Arma code before  I just copy this guys (zupa) work lol but i imagine the code would look like this :

  16.  My question is the game better without them, My experience in anything like that and Arma engine is that they never work well! I would prefer more NPC and less other creatures.. 

     

     Everyone is familiar to zombies, if its not comic books, its films, if its not films its games we have been used to that concept and kinda have look at it as if it is a strong possiblity and nothing too out of this world, my point is that creating different random creatures and like Jytky put it above cow sounding zombies you all of suddenly start looking losing that familiar feel which is their even if you havent played a zombie game before......

     

    My question here again, do we need these creatures in new epoch mod? when its only going to be buggy or just pointless to have because if they behave normally you can avoid them with ease! not to mention they just look stupid and in my opinion very cheap comparing to the beauty of Arma 3 graphic! 

     

    My suggestion is no creatures and more NPC, spend more time being creative with NPC's after all the new Epoch Mod is meant to have happened after the initial outbreak of zombie infection, (post arma 2 epoch). 

  17. ha ha all of these sound awesome on paper until you go on the server and see them live! these addons and Arma engines dont work to well from experince.... but happy to wait and see after all the epoch team are already 10 years ahead of dayz standalone and that just because they choose Arma 3 engine!

  18. Hey guys, I have recently started playing the Epoch Mod and I would like to help out with testing so I will be posting bugs and try to help out where I can.

     

    First of all I would like to start by saying what a great progress the dev team have done so far, its a lot further than i thought it would be.

     

    As the title suggests and forgive me for not knowing what these zombie like creatures are officially called.

     

    My question is that these creatures that run around then explode near you, are these work in progress?

     

    my initial thought is that these very strange and I dont know if its a matter of time and getting used to it, but it doesn't feel like these creatures fit into the epoch environment nor it is epoch standard, they look very out of place and basic comparing to the Arma 3 graphics and engine. I guess I would like to have normal zombies as bad as zombies are on dayz epoch / dayz they still feel some what better suited for the game then these creatures, I know that having zombies on this mod may not be an option, but maybe not have anything at all well work better?

     

    My question is what are players thoughts on them? should they be there at all?
