  1. You only need to be whitelisted to join a server as far as I know. And ofc have the mod installed using the launcher. Make sure you follow the instructions to the letter. Make sure you also have no other mods running and Epoch is the only one. I had to turn off extra mods and also had to move my @Epoch folder from the launcher physically into my Arma3 folder. So make sure that isn't whats going on as well. Good luck.

  2. While this is a touchy subject, we are talking about supporting a server, not making money. Using donations as a way to get extra cash in your pocket is a bit meh. Over the years of hosting servers I have come to the realization if the community enjoys what they have been provided they will help support it. Having donation perks to support a dedicated server, horribly setup and crowded VPS's is very unprofessional. Hosting servers is a hobby to me and many others, not a business. This is where the line becomes fuzzy. A lot of server providers forget that.

If you can honestly say you can afford to host a quality server with good specs that will fulfill the needs of the game you are providing for a year, without a single donation then this is for you. If you are basing the dedicated server off of server donations, and need to fall back on donation perks in order to keep the server alive then this isn't for you. Many of us do this because we enjoy doing it as a hobby. We look at it similar to what a DM from DnD looks at it like. We enjoy providing entertainment for our community.

Now don't get me wrong, getting those donations to help support a server, so it doesn't have to come out of your pocket are nice, setting the server model around it to survive is not.

    Just my opinion.

  3. Lol, didn't you have a space engineers and a wasteland server? Lol, yep, i know you. I was gonna mention that you should host an epoch server.

Yes sir Vash, you used to play on the SE server. I remember ya. Dean Hall played on it too , (my claim to facade fame.). Anyways spread the love BMRF already have a server and while I think you host a fantastic server Peeps. If you remember you hosted Desolations Rust on your box, and that became one of the most played servers in rust 160 players hit at one point and the server ran like butter. Either way the offer is up there, I don't run VPN , its fully dedicated and no one has access to the box except me. If given the opportunity i'd gladly give the info to one of the epoch mod team if they needed it.

Wasteland server isn't up anymore Vash, been down for months. SE server is also down due to lack of development in the game. Only thing running in the SQL right now is some stuff for a LiF:YO server for testing purposes which can easily be ran side by side or even turned off.

Meh its too early 4 hours of sleep after a long stream last night.

  4. Cannot find vehicles then kills the only guy with 30+ vehicles for sale... lol you should have purchased one.

Any vehicles on a trader does not take a slot until it is purchased. Sold or destroyed vehicles free up slots to spawn more on server restart.

During this time when finding the merchant I was under the impression that killing the merchant could possibly reset him and that the vehicles stashed within the merchant was taking up server vehicle slots. If not so be it , lol someone lost a lot of stored vehicles.

I have scoured the map in the past couple days for cars and such for newer players to give away and have found 2 helis and 3-4 vehicles. Not saying they are extremely hard to find, the first day on foot I found 2-3 trucks with a group of us looting.

Im not having any issues personally, but I have seen other players starting out having trouble finding them.

  5. I have told many of the newer players that the build limit has been met and building is on pause and they are fine with it. Most of the players I have met in the past 24 hours have left the server due to no vehicles around. Recently a couple of us found a merchant with 30+ vehicles on it and killed him. I hope this will repopulate the world with those vehicles. It seems as though someone was using this merchant as a safe storage which in turn was limiting the vehicles so getting around on the map was a hindrance to new players, some players leaving due to this.

A few of us have banded together to help get fresh whitelisted players gear and vehicles to help them start out, so that they may also test the game and help move along the alpha testing process.

  6. The Group System is isn't ever done, we want to make that the invited player must accept the invite but don't forget we didn't reach the closed alpha status yet.

wingtip I can see this being an issue on a live server , but as it currently stands this is a bug, the first iteration of a implementation for a new system in game that will be worked on. I witnessed the bug yesterday. The only current way to join a group is to have your data reload via death or leaving to lobby and joining. Which can cause some strange behavior as I was in 3 or more different groups last night upon each respawn.

Honestly if you are worried about your pixels in pre-alpha you are doing it wrong.
