  1. To actually learn the game you really need to interact with experienced players. Folks have joined my server with several months of DayZ and/or DayZ Epoch "experience" but they only know a small amount of how the game works. I suggest finding a whitelist low population PvE/COOP server that has some community, this way you can still go the solo route, aren't forced to join up with others but when you want you can team up you can, and you can benefit from the wealth of knowledge other players have. Posting questions on a forum tends to only get answers to the question as people don't tend to type more than they have to, however, when you are talking to people via TeamSpeak or something similiar you get a lot more information especially when you have some sort of relationship with them.

  2. We're using the _DZ classnames, NOT the _DZE and vehicle ammo is still being stripped. Any ideas?

    Before I checked classnames for the armed vehicles I checked their ammo and they had full ammo after server restart. I then changed the classnames to the new _DZE variety they did not have any ammo after restarting the server. Something is wrong for you.

  3. The invisible AI's are caused when an AI is spawned with a skin that isn't supported in DayZ Epoch.  

    Maybe. But the invisible AI are part of the script. When the server FPS is low or there are tons of AI the script will make the AI invisible and invincible which they do not come out of. SARGE posted how to fix it back in July on opendayz.net (http://opendayz.net/threads/1-5-or-1-6.11631/#post-58926) which Fuchs has implemented in his version of the SARGE AI.

  4. I tried that, but the grass didn't disappear and I was still laggy. so I deleted all the gdtmod files and now everything looks like it was in 1.0.2.3. I am no longer experiencing lag at all. Thanks for the help.

     

    BTW, I backed the up before deleting in case I needed them for something. Maybe I didnt have to delete them all but they are there in case some of them are crucial.

    Confirmed, I deleted all the gdtmod files and my framerate has gone from 45 to 55 in camp to 70+ and I can actually see stuff laying in the grass.

    [CHANGED] All armed vehicles now spawn with no ammo and on each restart. You must now find then add your own ammunition to wreak havoc. Change this with by using non "_DZE" classes of vehicles.

    Armed vehicles which have _DZE at the end of their class name will have their ammo emptied on server restart. Vehicles which do not have that added will have their ammo refilled on server restart.

    Example: ArmoredSUV_PMC_DZE, on server restart ammo will be reduced to 0 rounds. ArmoredSUV_PMC_DZ, on server restart ammo will be reset to 2,000 rounds.

     

    I agree. Should be about infantry combat not which uber group can amass the most heavy weaponry vehicles and rule a server with their stock piles of vehicle ammo.

    On our server we seem to have vehicle ammo spawning in the barracks!

    The ammo has been added to the military loot table. Hangers, tents, ATCs, etc, can spawn the ammo as loot.

  6. We have found one ammo supply crate on the side of a road and several supply drops which had building supplies and, once the wooden crate is broken, vehicle ammo. The ammo also can come from helicopter crashes and from military loot. Class names are in the change log:

    [ADDED] Added lootable ammo 100Rnd_127x99_M2,48Rnd_40mm_MK19,50Rnd_127x107_DSHKM, 29Rnd_30mm_AGS30, 2000Rnd_762x51_M134 to Helicrash and Military Special loot tables.

    You can increase the number of ammo crates that spawn on the side of the road at server start with MaxAmmoBoxes. The default is three.

Because DayZ Epoch does not track the ammo of magazines like DayZ does it has to be that way, otherwise players can simply remove a canister that has at least 1 round left, wait for the server to restart, and get a full ammo canister. It is already lame enough that players can do that with regular magazines, much less vehicle ammo. Until DayZ Epoch starts tracking magazine ammo it should be this way.

    I have a default 1.0.2.4 server_monitor.sqf with no changes. I tested it with a completely default server pbo, as well as one which loads buildings and adds ai kill messages. I presume the error in expression message is related to the sheds inventory. Since the shed does not belong to me I am yet to get the owner to remove its contents for testing purposes.

     

    Any ideas?

If you have a default DayZ Epoch install and player data (such as items, positional information, health status, humanity, etc) is not saving to the database then you definitely have something wrong with your configuration. In fact, there are so many different settings which may be wrong that it would be difficult to help you with the limited information you have provided. Presuming you are using Chernarus, take a look at a couple files in the Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead\instance_11_Chernarus directory. Arma2OAserver.RPT is the error log, which you can look at for clues at what may be wrong/happening. HiveExt.ini is, among other things, the configuration file which is used to connect Epoch to the MySQL database.

     

    I understand that this may not be very helpful for you, but you need to review your entire install. Good luck!

  10. I always just select the item in the 2D editor then change to the 3D editor when I want to move objects I am having trouble selecting from the 3D editor.

     

    Regarding items moving around in the editor, if I recall correctly, it is because the 3D editor was made as an afterthought and is very buggy, especially when it comes to location reporting. Surprised? yeah... Have you ever gone to move something in the 3D editor and it moves at like 1/3 the rate? This is actually what is happening to the object in question. You move it so far, the 3D editor thinks you moved it at some fraction there of, so when you save the location is wrong. To help decrease this I use the 2D editor more. Hard to do for walls, but saves you some headache if you use copy/paste. You can even make curved walls, once you get use to it.

  11. Depends on how you are hosting, but look for something like:

    Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead\instance_11_Chernarus\Arma2OAserver.RPT is what you are looking for.

    Is the file "newstuff.sqm" within the root of the pbo file? I have the REsec.sqf line commented out, have you tried putting the line for the .sqm before the REsec line?

    I helped NinjaRun resolve this issue. The issue was the include line for REsec.sqf came before the line calling the map additions.
