So the only way to get good loot in this game is to play in a big squad? That sucks. I don't got a mic and not many people want to group up with a guy with no mic, let alone the mentality of shoot on sight makes it very hard to find a squad to play with. None of my friends play epoch either. But I guess it's not impossible, ill have to try to find one. Thanks for the info.

I spent about a hour going to every house in a entire city to find only 5 houses with loot. Most of it was food. It would be really nice to have faster progression in this game, instead of having to spend 5 hours a day to find 1 cinder block and 1 scrap metal.

In a game like this, it kinda is a problem. walking around for hours trying to find loot and all of a sudden you find a vehicle. Holy crap right? A vehicle? Now you go to get in it all excited like and bam. "please purchase dlc to use" your day is now ruined. Vehicles are rare enough in this game and needing dlc to use some of them limits it even further.
Not many people feel like $25 for a addon of a go cart and two helicopters is worth it.

Why remove whitelisting though?
so the average player can play again and epoch can grow?

I hope joining those servers won't have any negative effects on people who play them. I did join one and had a conversation with a few people who where playing and some of them did not even know that the server files where stolen and that they where playing on a unofficial server.

interesting post, I did not know it limited players like that. I always assumed you could use it on multiplayer but buy it if you wanted to use it for single player. In other multiplayer game modes people can use the dlc without having to buy it, or so I have heard. I'm pretty sure I drove one myself and I don't own the dlc.

It seems there are loot hotspots after all, at least that is what I have come to believe. Military cargo towers and military bases seem to have the greatest amount of loot. In one cargo tower I found two gun cases and three other lootable objects. Sometimes towers don't have anything in them though. Also churches seem to have a high loot spawn rate.
But I guess it does not matter now with the hacker fest and locked servers, which will probably last months because the dev says they need BI to fix the exploit which is unlikely to happen anytime soon.

The announcement says that epoch will be closed until BI fixes the exploit in arma, I don't think that is going to happen anytime soon so epoch is going to be closed for months.

sounds like you should redownload the torrent. make sure to run the epoch launcher as administrator.

You guys are saying that you can't keep your money on death yet so does that mean it will be possible to do in the future?
With custom keys I mean like to access the trader you need to press I, and I read on the wiki that you can setup a custom key to surrender, I was just wondering if there where any other keys of that sort that could be useful, like a Key to bring up a menu or something,
Also its really good to know that there are no loot hotspots and the vehicle limit is at 100. Very useful! I'll have to keep my eye out for that Juggernaut armor as well. Thanks again for the reply's. If you guys got any more tips for a noob like myself feel free to share :D

Are there any complete guides for epoch around I could read? I'm pretty lost on some things.
Like how do you keep your money after you die?
What is the point of having traders at the spawn if you don't respawn with your cash?
What other custom keys are there besides the i key and what do they do?
How rare are vehicle spawns?
Where is the best loot?
Also I was going to make a new post for this but ill just post this here
While playing I went to a lot of houses in Agios Dinoysios and marked what houses had loot and what houses where empty. I was planing on going to every house in the city but ended up getting into a gun fight and fled.
I don't know if this will at all be interesting to anyone as I know the loot system is dynamic but here

not to try to defend a hacker or anything but this is not really proof of this guy hacking just because he did not die. I have seen a lot of posts of legit players getting banned by admins who don't really know who the hacker is and it is very easy to ban a legit player with hackers like this. I have even seen hackers change their name to other players and post messages in the chat, trying to get the legit player banned.

Arma 3 had hackers on every server as well but after a month or so they updated with battleye and I have only seen one hacker since. Patience you must have young padawan.

I disabled my zone alarm firewall and antivirus and the issue seems to be resolved now.

It's repetable for me
Everyime I go to join a server after about a minute of playing I started to get "no message received" message and it stays from anywhere between 10-100 seconds then the game continues to play for a few minutes. It happens over, and over, and over and over until it finally kicks me off the server. I played on servers with 50+ people and had 110ms ping and then I tried to play on servers with 23 or less people and I had 56ms ping but same issue.

I'm sure epoch will get this sorted out, it is in very early beta after all. Arma 3 had hackers on every single server very early in the devlopment but got it sorted out after awhile with updates.

Ahh this reminds me of the good old days of arma 2 where hackers ran wild, parchutes droped with cows attached and players where turned into pigs. Then after hours of playing have everything ruined in a instant after the hacker decides to drop a nuke on your face....ahh...memories.
How about Increasing the loot spawn rate?

need to turn it up for people who are lone wolfs instead of groups. groups don't need higher spawn rates like that because they can check more ground faster then a single person can. It's backwards.
Thanks for the tip about approaching towns slowly though, did not think about that. Also about buying a mic, I had one just last week but it broke, planing on buying a new one in a month or so.
