I would love to see additional airplanes in Epoch, especially an armed one (with foward firing guns)
There are quite a lot WW2 planes etc. But the most fitting in my opinion ist this Mig-15:
-it's actually slower and less armored than the WW2 Prop planes that you find for arma 2 (it doesn't need much to kill it 4clips of an AK-47 are enough to destroy it so it's not OP)
-It fits perfectly in the scenery, as it's an old russian plane, and even though they are pretty old there are stil quite a lot of them around so it makes sense for them to be still in the game: http://media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/a8/11/2d/a8112da52f5029b337f7cfe6b26c4919.jpg
-there are still so many Mig-15 left that they are now used as sports planes today
- it has one of the best Flightmodels in arma2 (Arma 2's flightmodels are pretty bad in general)
-it's not too fast, it gets to about 600. speeds that can also be reached by the c130 (and that's in the game)
-it's a "guns only" aircraft (at least there are "guns only" versions), so no OP weapons are on it, it's actually not OP at all, and very well balanced: it's not much faaster that the existing planes (orsprey/c130) it's not nearly as armored as the blackhawk and it only has straighfoward firing guns, where the Blackhawk has as powerful sidegunners wich can move around freely)
The Reasons for armed ("fighter"-) aircraft in Epoch:
-Well that one is pretty simple, the sheer dominance of helicopters (and their terribly broken flightmodels). Wich always bugged me in Dayz/Epoch is that there are so many helicopters around and so few planes, even though in real life the opposite is true. Not only that, survivors of a Zombie apocalypse flying them, even though piloting helicopters is actually really hard (but it isn't in arma). So you find the picture that in Dayz nearly everybody is a helicopter pilot and noone is piloting airplanes. That's because flying a helicopter in arma is actually easier than fliyng a plane, also planes aren't very useful in Epoch.
-But there is one Job planes could be of use, that is fending of helicopters, it would be less attractive to hunt down freshspawns with the threat of an attack-airplane around.
there are armed and armored Cars and helicopters... why isn't there any comparable airplane?
So please consider adding the Mig-15 or a simillar airplane to Epoch.
