The extra stun is to make you vulnerable and give your base some protection while you're offline. Its not enough for me that you can do it without any risk and all the gain that comes with cracking someones base. The server doesn't sleep. There will be people who still do it and those deserve to get into peoples bases. Door cracking is an admin nightmare to, people are going to assume that their base was glitched into. With it being so easy before we had to assume that players guessed the code, now it is much less likely that this is the case. Multiple people accessing the same lock also negates any time factor. This is a glitch with the way its set up and needs a fix in place. This time sink acts like a fix for this to combat people who use untraceable glitches. If codes were changeable by the owners and 4 digits long I would remove the stun. Without admin intervention this is not possible and I'm not having my admins login every day to change the code on a door. This is again, something for the Epoch devs. Then it would be down to the player to keep their codes in rotation, would you moan at this to that players can change and update their security? But I would like to know more about the glitch. Is it a real thing? I haven't seen other complaints about it. As far as the "If codes were changeable by the owners..." comment, they absolutely are. Open the door, remove the lock, then reinstall the lock for a new code. Then he goes on at the end to say "lower chance at cracking the code..." which implies he isn't necessarily talking about a glitch so much as his players spending a week trying every combination to unlock people's bases. Which I think is great. Honestly, if a guy spent a week trying every combination on my lock to get into a base he couldn't do a damn thing in anyway...I'd be thrilled at the amount of work he put into it. Aristoi Posted January 12, 2014 Report Share Posted January 12, 2014 Sounds like the OP is saying that if 5 people are at a door, they could coordinate and each do 200 codes, making the 3 digit combination lock weak enough to crack in a reasonable amount of time. While that is true, and it has been suggested to go to 4 digit codes, as Ped pointed out, pulling the lock and redeploying it will randomize the code. Additionally, multiple levels of doors is very helpful. I commonly build a small "vault" (walls and another locked door) inside my base around high value object like the safe and lockboxes (which are especially easy to crack). You could also use the garage sallyport concept for your exterior door, and have an outer locked door, a short tunnel, and an inner locked door. My suggestions would put three locked doors between a robber and your valuables, before they have to even get started on the locked storage. Ped Posted January 12, 2014 Report Share Posted January 12, 2014 Well, this isn't a glitch. Personally, I would argue it to be a hack as it's a third party application being used. It's a "mouse clicking simulator" which relies on color/pixel elements much the same as an Aimbot does. Anyone who is reported to me using something like this will be banned from the servers im on, permanently. I'd also suggest you remove that video from this forum before the mods get a hold of you, posting a game hack or information about it here, will not be welcomed.
