What on Earth is this wooden box?

What is this wooden box or crate that I keep finding by the side of the road, what can I do with it, and how do I interact with it? I've tried shooting it quite a bit, mousewheeling over it, right clicking my crowbar (both on toolbar and in-hand) when near it- nothing happens.

Think its just debris, spawned by the server.

That's what I was thinking but I've shot one before and it hasn't destroyed it. Do you know how many times I would have to shoot it with say, 8rd Pellets from an M1014? Or perhaps with which gun I should shoot it? I suppose something 50cal would probably do the trick, anyways.

Any gun will work, 2 stanag mags will do it.

Broke it open with 8 Slugs and 3 Pellet bursts-

 

Nothing was in it...

I suggest using the hatchet, takes a dozen of strikes or so.

 

After the box breaks (at least on our server) there is an irritatingly noticable period of time (approx 5s) before you get a context (mousewheel) menu 'remove'.

 

Do this and you'll receive the contents just as you would with a car wreck.

Ahh the Goodies Box.....Love them.....especially when they have a pile of cinderblocks or planks or mortar buckets around them....but nonetheless its a nice find....grab that sledge or gun and break it open for Christmas now present :)
