[MAYBE] Another fix to server fps los - SERVER SIDE

Hey guys,

 

i am not sure if this is fortuity or not but i changed the memory allocator back from freds malloc to malloc=system (on the server, not client).

It SEEMS that the server fps are running fine at full speed during 2 hours reboot cycle with 25 player. Before there was less fps. Have to see if it will work with server fully populated.

 

Anybody wants to test and maybe confirm or bust this?

can this malloc be used on client too? or is only server side?

 

Either, but rename it as I said and you won't need to include a -malloc= appendage

 

I found the only way to remove sappers from spawning was to remove them from the loots.h in a3_epoch_server_settings.pbo

Hmm, i deleted all Antagonist from loots.h and set in epochconfig.hpp...

 

antagonistChanceTrash = 0.00; //9% chance when player loot a trash object
antagonistChancePDeath = 0.00; //33% chance when player was killed from a other player (selfkill doesn't count)
antagonistChanceLoot = 0.00; //9% chance when player click "SEARCH" on a loot object
 
...but UAVs and Sapper still spawning! ...how can it be???

not sure how removing the Sappers and stuff will help fix fps (which I thought was the topic of this thread). But I will say, I have the antagonists disabled on our server simply by placing the below code in the mpmissions init.sqf file

It helps because there is an issue when they spawn which slows down client fps, it also happened a few versions ago and this resolved it.

Kool, good to know, as I was making plans to use them, but in a different way. But may rethink things if the issue is still there. I disabled them before (and after) the updates on our server, and the fps issue is still a major issue. Best resolution I found, till an official fix, is for the clients to disconnect and reconnect, whenever they get bad fps. (The whole fps issue feels like memory cache that isn't getting free'd up properly.)
